In other words, even being a preview, the model already appears to be very close to its final configuration.
According to Chery executives, the Tiggo 9L will be an SUV for up to seven occupants, combining generous interior space with intelligent driving and comfort systems.
The official launch is expected to take place in 2026, although no specific date has yet been confirmed by the Chinese manufacturer.
Features Of The New Tiggo 9L
Inspired by the concept dubbed by the manufacturer as “Aesthetics Of The Forces Of Nature,” the Chery Tiggo 9L adopts a robust body, with angular lines and a striking visual presence.
The front grille draws attention for displaying the name CHERY illuminated in large letters, along with an LED strip connecting the H-shaped headlights—a solution that enhances the futuristic look of the model.
The sides of the Tiggo 9L are highlighted by pronounced creases and wide fenders, while the rear follows the same pattern as the front headlights, featuring vertical lights also in the shape of an H.
Compared to the traditional Tiggo 9, the new SUV is considerably larger—and this growth is reflected in the letter “L” in its name, which indicates its elongated body.
With a length of 5.05 meters and a wheelbase of 2.95 meters, the Tiggo 9L is the largest SUV ever conceived by Chery within the Tiggo family. The model was designed to comfortably transport six or seven occupants across three rows of seats.
The interior also offers independent climate zones, screens for second-row passengers, and a range of amenities aimed at making journeys more enjoyable for everyone on board.
The front panel is dominated by three large LCD screens that occupy nearly the entire expanse of the cockpit.
Additionally, the cameras installed around the car provide a 540º view—a combination of the traditional 360º view with additional sensors that monitor even what is underneath the vehicle.
Artificial Intelligence And Cutting-Edge Connectivity
The technological proposal of the Tiggo 9L is elevated to a new level with the use of embedded artificial intelligence. The car learns from the driver’s habits and automatically adjusts settings such as temperature, seats, and entertainment systems.
The control of all these functionalities is managed by a Falcon 700 processor with chips of just 3 nanometers—one of the most advanced solutions in the current automotive industry.
Moreover, the SUV monitors biometric signals such as heart rate and fatigue, offering preventive alerts in case of tiredness while driving. Semi-autonomous driving is also present, working both on highways and in urban areas.
Hybrid Engineering Focused On Performance
The new Tiggo 9L from Chery will be powered by a hybrid system with four engines: a 2.0 turbo combustion engine generating 272 hp, capable of running on low-octane fuels, and three electric motors not yet detailed by the manufacturer.
The technology behind this hybrid system is based on the newly launched Kunpeng Hybrid Global Architecture, a versatile platform that Chery will use for vehicles focused on both economy and performance.
Also noteworthy is the new three-speed DHT automatic transmission, developed specifically for hybrid systems.
The company has also invested in the use of silicon carbide in the powertrain modules, ensuring better electric performance, lower energy consumption, and more efficient cooling.
Smart Suspension And More Precise Maneuvers
Another differentiator of the Chery Tiggo 9L is its active hydraulic suspension, which uses artificial intelligence to identify irregularities in the road and adjust the stiffness of the system before impacts occur. The aim is to maximize comfort and stability, even on more challenging terrains.
The rear wheel steering system is also impressive. It reduces the turning radius during low-speed maneuvers and increases agility in quick turns, making the SUV easier to drive both in the city and on the road.
The Tiggo 9L, still in the conceptual phase, already demonstrates the maturity needed to compete with industry giants in the luxury sector. The expectation now rests on the official confirmation of its arrival in global markets—including Brazil.
