Occupational Safety Technician – Offshore
Rio de Janeiro
Requirements: Technical Course in Occupational Safety with active registration at the Ministry of Labor;
The Candidate Must Hold The Certificates: CBSP; HUET; Height Work and Confined Space Supervisor;
Desirable Courses: Confined Space and Working at Height; First Aid; Hot Work Watch; Load Handling; Safety in Lifting Operations; EMCIA.
The candidate must speak English fluently and have basic computer knowledge. Offshore experience onboard PLSV, marine units, or other construction/submersible vessels is desirable.
Some of the activities: Collect the SOC (Safety Observation Card) and suggestions from the vessel and enter them into the DOCMAP. Monitor the deadlines for actions and closing observations; Keep the original SOCs filed and organized onboard; Input safety information into the system such as: safety observations, behavioral audits, etc.; Ensure that Risk Analyses, Work Permits, and Tool Box Talks are carried out before starting activities onboard, to guarantee that these are executed under appropriate safety conditions and in accordance with the regulations set forth in the legislation; Monitor the PPRA documents, Risk Maps, and Confined Space Plan of the vessel; among others.
