The Pickup That Went Viral After Jumping in Ceará Was Bought by a Fish Farmer and Will Have a New Life as an Attraction at Parties and Events
The Ford Ranger Raptor that went viral for “flying” over the dunes of Ceará now has a new owner. Alisson Sávio, a fish farmer from the town of Russas (CE), purchased the vehicle from his friend Valécio Granjeiro, the former owner responsible for the jump that damaged part of the truck.
Sale of the Raptor for Half of the Original Value
Without insurance and with the pickup significantly damaged, Valécio sold the model for a price well below market value. Although the exact amount has not been disclosed, the Uol Carros portal revealed that the deal was closed for around R$ 250 thousand. For comparison, a new Ranger Raptor costs R$ 419 thousand.
The price difference is due to the damage caused by the jump. Videos posted on social media show the truck flying over 14 meters before hitting the ground hard.

Severe Damage to the Suspension and Bodywork
Upon impact, the pickup sustained damage in several areas. The airbags deployed, the bodywork became dented, the suspension was compromised, and the front panel was deformed.
According to Alisson, the cargo bed also became misaligned. To be able to drive it, he put three temporary wheels in place of the original ones, which were rendered unusable.
Despite the condition of the pickup, the new owner already has a definite purpose for it: display. He stated that the Ranger will be used only at parties and events — at least for now.
Ranger Raptor Even Gets Its Own Profile on Social Media
The new phase of the “Flying Raptor” includes an official Instagram profile: @raptor_voadora_oficial. There, Alisson shares videos of the accident, images of the vehicle, and updates about the pickup’s upcoming commitments.
Among the events are a June festival in Russas, held on June 14, and participation in the Funny Cup, a track day event scheduled for this weekend in Ceará.
