The Federal Institute of Paraíba (IFPB) announced the opening of the Selection Process for Higher Education Courses – UAB/IFPB 2025.1 and 2025.2, according to Notice No. 15/2025. The vacancies are for free online courses (EAD) in Pedagogy and Computing, with weekly in-person meetings. In total, 520 vacancies are available distributed across several centers of the Open University of Brazil (UAB), guaranteeing an excellent opportunity for free and quality training.
Free online courses (EAD) aim to train professionals for teaching and technology. The Bachelor's Degree in Pedagogy trains educators prepared for primary education and other educational areas, while the Bachelor's Degree in Computing trains teachers to teach computer science and develop technological solutions. Both courses will be taught online (EAD), but require mandatory face-to-face meetings on Saturdays, in addition to face-to-face assessment activities. The workload follows the guidelines of the Pedagogical Project of each course.
Available vacancies and locations
The selection process offers 520 undergraduate places, 370 for Pedagogy and 150 for Computing, distributed among the UAB centers on the campuses of the Instituto Federa-IFPB. The centers are:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computing (150 vacancies): Alagoa Grande, Araruna, Duas Estradas, Lucena, Mari and Pombal.
Selection process
The selection will be made based on the score obtained in the National High School Exam (ENEM) from 2015 to 2024. The classification criterion will be the arithmetic mean of the scores in the areas of knowledge and the essay. To be classified, the candidate must have obtained a score higher than zero in the essay.
50% of the places are reserved for graduates of public schools, according to Law No. 12.711/2012. Within this percentage, there are subdivisions for family income below 1,5 minimum wages per capita, black people (black, mixed race and indigenous), quilombolas and people with disabilities.
Application requirements
To participate, candidates must have completed high school and taken at least one of the ENEM exams between 2015 and 2024. It is not necessary to attach documents when registering, but proof of information will be required upon enrollment. For online undergraduate courses (EAD), it is essential to have access to the internet and a computer to follow classes.

- Announcement of preliminary list of applicants: 01/03/2025
- Deadline for appeals: 02/03/2025 to 03/03/2025
- Final selection result: 08/03/2025
- Registration: 10/03/2025 to 15/03/2025
Registration for free courses
Registration for free online undergraduate courses (EAD) must be completed exclusively through the Federal Institute website student.ifpb.edu.br. There is no registration fee, and candidates can use the best grade obtained in the ENEM within the stipulated period. At the end of the course, participants will receive nationally valid diplomas.
