Enroll at the Federal Institute-IFPB! Free Undergraduate Courses in Pedagogy and Computing in Online Mode (EAD). Use Your ENEM Score!

The Federal Institute of Paraíba (IFPB) announced the opening of the Selective Process for Higher Courses – UAB/IFPB 2025.1 and 2025.2, according to Notice No. 15/2025. The vacancies are for free online (EAD) undergraduate courses in Pedagogy and Computing, with weekly in-person meetings. A total of 520 spots are available across various centers of the Open University of Brazil (UAB), providing an excellent opportunity for free, quality education.

The free online courses (EAD) aim to train professionals for roles in education and technology. The Pedagogy degree prepares educators for basic education and other educational areas, while the Computing degree trains teachers for teaching computer science and developing technological solutions. Both courses will be conducted online (EAD), but require mandatory in-person meetings on Saturdays, in addition to in-person assessment activities. The workload follows the guidelines set by the Pedagogical Project of each course.

Available Spots and Locations

The selective process offers 520 undergraduate spots, with 370 for Pedagogy and 150 for Computing, distributed among UAB centers at the Federal Institute-IFPB campuses. The centers are:

  • Pedagogy Degree (370 spots): Campina Grande, Conde, Cuité de Mamanguape, João Pessoa, Lucena, and Mari.
  • Computing Degree (150 spots): Alagoa Grande, Araruna, Duas Estradas, Lucena, Mari, and Pombal.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on the score obtained in the National High School Exam (ENEM) from 2015 to 2024. The classification criterion will be the arithmetic average of the scores in the knowledge areas and the essay. To be classified, the candidate must have obtained a score greater than zero on the essay.

50% of the spots are reserved for graduates from public schools, according to Law No. 12.711/2012. Within this percentage, there are subdivisions for families with a monthly income of less than 1.5 minimum wages per capita, Black people (Black, Brown, and Indigenous), quilombolas, and people with disabilities.

Requirements for Registration

To participate, the candidate must have completed high school and taken at least one of the ENEM editions between 2015 and 2024. It is not necessary to attach documents at the time of registration, but proof of the information will be required during enrollment. For online (EAD) undergraduate courses, it is essential to have internet access and a computer to attend classes.

Selective Process Schedule

  • Registration Period: 01/28/2025 to 02/28/2025
  • Disclosure of the Preliminary List of Applicants: 03/01/2025
  • Deadline for Appeals: 03/02/2025 to 03/03/2025
  • Final Selection Result: 03/08/2025
  • Enrollment: 03/10/2025 to 03/15/2025

Registration for Free Courses

Registrations for the free online (EAD) undergraduate courses must be completed exclusively through the Federal Institute’s website estudante.ifpb.edu.br. There is no registration fee, and the candidate can use the best score obtained in the ENEM within the stipulated period.
