With Zero Carbon Emissions, The Largest Parts Network For Agricultural And Heavy Machines In The Country Should Spend 30% Less With New Electric Vehicle
July 14, 2022 – With the commitment to reduce pollutant emissions in its operational structure and to follow the plan for advancing the ESG agenda, Rech, the largest parts network for agricultural and heavy machinery in the country, is investing in its first 100% electric truck. The company will start operating the new vehicle in the first half of August and will distribute products from its distribution center in Hidrolândia to all its units and clients in Goiânia. The electric truck has a range of up to 250 kilometers per day.
According to Fleiron Nazareno da Silva, Supply Director of Rech, while a diesel vehicle can emit over a thousand tons of carbon per year, the company’s new investment will eliminate gas emissions. “Another point to highlight is the lower cost. Due to the instability in diesel prices – which represents 40% of the costs for carriers, the savings will be significant in the medium and long term for our logistics. The company should spend 30% less with the electric truck,” he celebrates.
In addition to the lower environmental impact, which is the fundamental point in the process, the truck features high technology, with fast battery charging and also a tracker, which contributes to the security of the cargo and the vehicle itself. The efficiency of the motors has also become a highlight. The company’s transport manager, André Carvalho, emphasizes that the truck uses the engine’s friction to produce electricity. “In this way, the batteries are constantly recharged, contributing to energy efficiency,” he analyzes.

Avelloz left the Northeast to become Brazil’s 5th top-selling motorcycle brand, surpassing 130,000 units sold, and is now targeting expansion in the South and Southeast with new models, a national network, and a focus on the popular entry-level segment.
The new project is part of a broader approach by the company that already has a well-structured sustainability program. Linked to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, the program reaches 11 of the 17 SDGs within 5 pillars: Clients, Workers, Governance, Community, and Environment.
To strengthen Rech’s commitment to the environment, the company plans to advance in other projects for the year 2022. The network plans to transfer the logistics of transportation from other distribution centers and units to suppliers who are committed to neutralizing the carbon emissions produced, as well as operating electric forklifts in its distribution centers, acquiring reusable cardboard, and utilizing renewable energy in its own units in Mato Grosso.
Rech also celebrates the external recognition of its actions. In early 2022, the company achieved the Bronze Ecovadis sustainability seal in its first year of evaluation, one of the most important and reliable global certifications for corporate sustainability assessment, and joined the United Nations Global Compact.
