It is worth mentioning that the Renault Espace E-Tech SUV is 4.72 meters long, 140 mm shorter than the previous generation, but the new platform allows for better interior arrangement as the passenger compartment is even longer, measuring 2.48 meters to the third row. Longer trips in the third row are not recommended for individuals over 1.80 meters, but the Renault Espace E-Tech SUV comfortably accommodates seven people.
The seats are comfortable, and the 5-seat version of the Espace will have a capacity of 777 liters (VDA) in the trunk. 1,818 liters in the 5-seat version with the second row of seats folded, 777 liters in the 5-seat version with the second row slid forward, and 159 liters in the 7-seat configuration with the third row in place.
Renault Espace E-Tech SUV Delivers 200 Horsepower
The Espace version with the hybrid gasoline engine delivering 200 horsepower is powered by a multi-mode automatic transmission.
The fuel consumption is lower than one might expect from a vehicle of this size, and considering that the gasoline engine, along with the hybrid system that does not require charging, enables a range that is realistic, not falling much below the 1,100 km announced by Renault.
The hybrid gasoline E-Tech engine with 200 horsepower in this new Renault Espace E-Tech SUV combines a 3-cylinder 1.2-liter turbo gasoline engine with 130 hp (96 kW) that produces 205 Nm of torque, with two electric motors, the primary unit and the secondary unit, a high-voltage starter/generator that ensures the combustion engine starts and operates the gear shifts.
New Renault Model Features Various Technologies
The equipment in the model is generous, just like previous versions. The entry-level version comes standard with a 24-inch OpenR screen, electric tailgate, smartphone induction charger, 19-inch alloy wheels, Isofix systems in the left and right seats of the second row, and a suite of safety devices that includes a blind-spot alert system.
The Renault Espace E-Tech SUV features electrically folding seats, and these are heated, as is the steering wheel. In terms of safety, the lane-keeping assist is integrated only in the Iconic and Esprit Alpine levels.
Traffic sign recognition and speed limit prevention are incorporated in the active driver assist, but they can also be used independently.
