A New Competition Has Been Announced. There Are Almost 300 Vacancies and Salaries That Can Start at R$ 9,600. The Competition Is Intended for Those Interested in Working in the Education Area.

The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) has announced the publication of the announcement for its competition, which aims to hire professors from various fields.

According to the institution, applications for the competition, which, as mentioned, will have salaries that can start at R$ 9,616.18 monthly, depending on the candidate’s qualifications, will begin to be accepted on March 26. The vacancies in the UFRJ competition total 289 vacancies for immediate filling.

According to the institution, there are opportunities for candidates with higher education and specialization, master’s or doctoral degrees who wish to work in various areas such as Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition, Administration, Marketing, Library Science, Accounting, Law, Economics, Public Management, Physics, Information Technology, Geography, Mathematics, Astronomy, Social Communication, Education, and others.

The Salaries Offered by the Institution

The announcement states that salaries can vary from R$ 2,348.14 to R$ 9,616.18 monthly, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and also on the work schedule. This is because, while some selected candidates will work 20 hours, others will work 40 hours per week.

Requirements for the Competition

Applicants should know that, to participate in the University’s competition, the fulfillment of certain requirements is necessary.

One example is that the candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree, according to the field of study required by the Academic Unit for each area/sector, duly registered and recognized by the Ministry of Education or, in the case of a diploma obtained abroad, must be validated according to current legislation.

Additionally, the applicant must also have, at a minimum, a Specialization Course or have completed the necessary credits for the presentation of a Master’s dissertation or Doctoral thesis, be Brazilian or a foreigner holding a permanent visa or a beneficiary of international agreements or conventions.

Moreover, the candidate must not hold an effective position in the federal teaching career, cannot participate in the management or administration of a private company, whether incorporated or unincorporated, and cannot engage in trade, except as a shareholder, partner or limited partner.

Furthermore, the candidate must be registered with the respective regulatory body of the profession, when it comes to a regulated profession, and also:

Be at least 18 years old;
Enjoy full political rights;
Be up to date with electoral and military obligations.

How to Register for the Competition

As mentioned, applications for the UFRJ competition have not yet opened. In this sense, it is worth remembering that these registrations will be accepted between March 26 and May 9, 2024, directly through the University’s website. The application fee ranges from R$ 100 to R$ 300.
