A 159-page report, prepared after an inspection between June 15 and 18, 2026, classified pillars, beams, consoles, and stands of the West Sector of Fazendinha as critically risky, pointed out corrosion, cracks, fissures, and deformations, and recommended that the structure not be used for any purpose.
Corinthians received a technical report on the Alfredo Schürig stadium, Fazendinha, with a direct recommendation for the West Sector: the total demolition of the structure. The document is part of the process of authorizing the venue to host matches.
According to Meu Timão, the inspection was contracted in June 2026 and carried out by civil engineer Osmar Meireles dos Santos. The report, attached to the website of the Paulista Football Federation, evaluates engineering conditions, accessibility, and comfort of Fazendinha.
Stadium was inspected between June 15 and 18
The inspection took place between June 15 and 18 and resulted in a 159-page report. The service cost the club R$ 6,000 and is valid until June 16, 2027.

Although the documentation was used in the process of partially releasing Fazendinha, the most sensitive point is in the West Sector. The stands have been closed since 2018, due to a decision involving the FPF and the Military Police of São Paulo.
At the time, it was concluded that the structure did not present safety conditions to host the public. Since then, Fazendinha has been operating without the West Sector, keeping only the North, South, and East sectors in operation.
Currently, the closed area does not receive fans. The space of the West Sector houses the Corinthians rowing department and a Military Police station, even with the technical recommendation not to use the structure.
West Sector concentrates serious problems in the stadium
The report indicates that the West Sector gathers the most serious structural problems found in Fazendinha. The analysis records anomalies in practically all evaluated elements, including pillars, beams, consoles, and stands.
All these components were classified with a critical risk level. Among the problems described are exposed reinforcements, insufficient covering of these reinforcements, corrosion, cracks, fissures, infiltrations, and structural movements.
The report also mentions carbonation of the concrete, deterioration of the physical-chemical characteristics of the structure, damage to movement joints and support devices, as well as differential deformations. In the stands, deformations considered excessive were pointed out.
The reinforcements mentioned in the document are steel structures used to reinforce the concrete. When exposed or without sufficient protection, they become more vulnerable to corrosion, which can compromise structural performance over time.
Engineer recommends that sector not be used
The responsible engineer classified the occurrences as critical due to involving risk to people’s safety, loss of performance and functionality, significant increase in maintenance and recovery costs, as well as reduction of the building’s lifespan.
Given this scenario, the central guidance of the report is that the West Sector should not be used for any purpose. The recommendation is for the total demolition of the structure, due to the set of damages observed during the inspection.
The report also states that since the construction of the sector, no structural repairs have been carried out. The document adds that there was no load increase caused by works subsequent to the original project.
Fazendinha operates with reduced capacity
Without the West stand, the total indicated capacity for the stadium is 9,873 seats. The document points out that 9,000 seats present a great safety margin within the current operational configuration.
The capacity distribution is divided between 4,200 seats in the North stand, 3,500 in the South, and 1,800 in the East. These are the sectors considered in the release of Fazendinha to host matches.
The case reinforces the difference between partially opening a stadium and considering the entire complex fit for use. At Fazendinha, the operation focuses on the authorized sectors, while the West Sector remains the most delicate structural point of the technical report.
