According to industry sources, Toyota brought its electrification technology, while Suzuki contributed its expertise in compact vehicles, resulting in models like the Suzuki Fronx and its variant, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor.

Originally destined for the Indian market, where cars are taxed according to their size and engine, the Urban Cruiser Taisor was designed to meet the demand for compact and economical vehicles.
With 3.99 meters in length, it falls into the category that pays lower taxes, making it an affordable option for many consumers.
In India, this model offers two engine options: a 90 hp 1.2 naturally aspirated engine for the entry-level versions and a 100 hp 1.0 turbo mild-hybrid engine for the higher-end versions.
However, in South Africa, the Starlet Cross arrived with a 105 hp 1.5 naturally aspirated engine, similar to what powers the Yaris lineup in Brazil.
According to industry sources, the Starlet Cross has a modest list of equipment, reflecting its proposal to be a compact and economical SUV. Among the highlights are LED headlights and taillights, stability control, hill-start assist, two airbags, and a multimedia center with a 7-inch screen.

And In Brazil? Will We See The Starlet Cross?
Despite being an attractive option, especially considering its competitive price, Toyota has chosen to take another route for the Brazilian market. According to information, in the country, the brand will focus on producing the Toyota Yaris Cross in Sorocaba (SP), scheduled to start at the end of this year, with expected arrival at dealerships in 2025.
This model, which will be produced locally, is expected to meet the specific demands of the Brazilian market and promises to be a strong competitor to models like the Honda HR-V, Hyundai Creta, Jeep Renegade, and all the others.
