Temporary Jobs Will Be Created by Petrobras in Investments of Approximately R$ 168 Million. Reduc Shutdown in Duque de Caxias Starts Today and Will Last 31 Days
Petrobras announced this Monday (12/08) that it is starting a scheduled maintenance shutdown of the Reduc refinery in Duque de Caxias (RJ). Other maintenance projects are seeking professionals, see here!
The “shutdown” of Reduc is expected to last 31 days and aims to perform regular maintenance activities in the unit that will receive investments of R$ 168 million.
The maintenance shutdown will focus on the lubricants unit, and the investments this time will be in purchasing equipment for the processing units of the production set.
Petrobras stated that the Reduc shutdown will not affect the supply of the product to the market, even though the unit is responsible for 80% of the national lubricants production.

Job Generation
The Reduc refinery in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro, belongs to Petrobras and has a capacity to process 38 million liters of oil daily.
Petrobras estimates that, in addition to its employees who will work during the maintenance shutdown, another 2,400 temporary jobs will be generated by the companies contracted for the activities.
Reduc started its production in 1961 and is now one of the largest in Brazil in installed crude oil refining capacity. With a privileged logistics, responsible for 80% of lubricants production and the highest natural gas processing in Brazil, it also has the largest product portfolio (a total of 55 products processed in 43 units). Located in the Baixada Fluminense, it has driven the emergence of a strong industrial hub in the region, standing out as an important job generator.
