Frigel Latinoamerica Ltda Combines Cutting-Edge Technology with Extensive Knowledge of Refrigeration Systems Worldwide to Provide Customers with Long-Term and Environmentally Friendly Solutions.
Frigel Latinoamerica Ltda (“FLA”) is the largest Brazilian group supplying equipment for refrigeration and thermal control of industrial processes, with a special emphasis on implementing technology for water and energy savings. HBR Máquinas e Equipamentos Ltda (“HBR”) and Frigel Firenze S.p.A (“FRIGEL”) formed the partnership.
The joint venture allowed the companies to strengthen their positions as market leaders in the production and distribution of high-performance chillers, exclusive solutions, and innovative adiabatic cooling systems. Assuming business continues as usual, the World Economic Forum predicts that by 2030, the gap between global water supply and demand will increase to 40%.
Water scarcity is a significant barrier to economic development in many regions where demand has already exceeded sustainable supply. The CEO of Frigel Firenze, Alessandro Moroni, stated that the joint venture would prioritize “greener and smarter solutions” in its portfolio.

Frigel Latinoamerica integrates technology and business methods for rapid expansion. Over the next three years, the company plans to quadruple its operations, become more competitive, and expand its reach. HBR and FRIGEL Firenze, both equal shareholders, will appoint directors to manage the joint venture.
The partnership promotes efficiencies in areas such as information sharing, international supply, product development, and distribution. According to Daniel Cueva, Marketing and Sales Director at HBR, the agreement also consolidates the relationship between HBR, REFRISAT, and FRIGEL, and today’s announcement broadens the strategy initiated in 2019 with the acquisition of REFRISAT, a leading supplier of chillers and temperature regulators for Latin America.
The factories of Frigel Latinoamerica in Guarulhos, São Paulo, and Jundia will produce products for a wide range of industries.
Sustainable and Effective Solutions Are the Goal of the Joint Venture.
The companies joined forces to create a more effective and sustainable industry, focusing on market interaction and, more importantly, on expressed values. “Reducing environmental impact should be a premise for everyone, and aligning sustainability with an established and successful brand ensures the necessary development to be present in various segments, reinforcing our constant pursuit of innovation, and giving our customers the freedom to choose the most comprehensive, safe, and effective solutions”, Cueva states.
