System with four independent drums transforms the logic of home laundries by combining washing, drying, and clothes separation in a single premium device, focusing on organization, hygiene, care for delicate fabrics, and visual integration for planned environments.

Panasonic introduced the NA-G5 as a 4-in-1 system aimed at washing, drying, and clothing care, bringing together four independent drums in a single structure designed to replace different appliances used separately in home laundries.

In the main configuration, the equipment combines a washer-dryer of 13 kg, a unit dedicated to drying and care of 12 kg, and two mini washers of 1 kg, intended for smaller items or those requiring specific separation.

Instead of following the traditional single drum logic, the proposal completely reorganizes the way clothes are distributed inside the machine, allowing loads to be separated by fabric, volume, or hygiene needs without relying on successive cycles.

With this division, the model targets households that need to handle larger clothes, delicate items, children’s items, or intimate apparel daily, reducing the need to maintain compact washers and extra dryers scattered around the laundry room.

Washing machine with four drums attracts attention in the premium market

According to the German Design Award, the NA-G5 received recognition in the Excellent Product Design category for integrating washing, drying, and clothing care with heat pump technology in a single home system.

In the award’s evaluation, the equipment was described as an advanced solution for complete clothing care, highlighting mainly the internal division that separates different categories of items within the same device.

Unlike conventional machines, which concentrate the entire load in a single drum, Panasonic’s model allows clothes to be distributed by type of fabric, hygiene needs, or volume, reducing inappropriate mixes during cycles.

While the main 13 kg compartment concentrates larger clothes and everyday items, the 12 kg module focuses on drying and clothing care, leaving the two mini drums for smaller and delicate items.

How the Compartment Division of the Panasonic NA-G5 Works

In practice, the system changes a very common routine in home laundries: waiting for one wash to finish to start another different load, especially when there is a need to separate delicate fabrics or smaller items.

Thanks to the independent drums, the NA-G5 can organize distinct groups of clothes within the same structure, eliminating the need to combine small auxiliary washers, independent dryers, or compact appliances scattered around the environment.

Another point that differentiates the model is the presence of the heat pump in the drying and care system for clothes, a technology associated with more controlled and less aggressive thermal processes for sensitive fabrics.

In equipment of this type, heat tends to circulate more efficiently than in traditional systems based on constant high temperatures, favoring more balanced cycles for delicate clothes and frequently used items.

Besides the functional proposal, the design also plays an important role in positioning the product within Panasonic’s premium line, mainly due to the attempt to integrate multiple compartments without conveying an excessively bulky appearance.

For this, the company adopted an integrated body, minimalist finish, brushed stainless steel front panel, and embedded tempered glass doors, creating a look closer to custom furniture than traditional appliances.

Minimalist Design and Visual Integration Gain Space in Laundries

With this visual construction, the laundry ceases to be treated only as a functional area of the house and starts to follow a trend already seen in custom kitchens and integrated environments of premium standard.

In this context, the machine gains aesthetic relevance within the environment, especially in residential projects that value visual integration and appliances capable of remaining visible without compromising the composition of the space.

To manage the four modules, Panasonic incorporated a magnetic button control with an LCD screen, centralizing the operation of the equipment in a single interaction point to avoid dispersed commands among the compartments.

Within such a segmented structure, this type of panel becomes important for selecting programs, loads, and functions without making use more complex or creating difficulties during the organization of clothes.

At the same time, the proposal meets a growing demand for home hygiene, especially in households that prefer to separate intimate clothing, children’s items, or delicate fabrics from heavier and frequently used loads.

The mini washers reinforce precisely this logic of separation, allowing small and sensitive items to be isolated without direct contact with larger clothes, although Panasonic does not rely solely on this argument to promote the equipment.

Within the premium washer market, the NA-G5 draws attention less for simply expanding capacity and more for altering the traditional dynamics of home laundry, concentrating parallel tasks within a single piece of equipment.

In this format, washing, drying, separating items, and caring for fabrics work in an integrated manner, reducing steps and reorganizing the routine for those who need to handle different types of loads daily.

The commercial presentation of the ALPHA G5 model took place in China, in September 2025, during an event linked to Hangzhou Matsushita Home Appliance, responsible for the initial unveiling of Panasonic’s new proposal.

On the occasion, the company positioned the equipment as a premium alternative capable of replacing compact laundry sets with an integrated structure, bringing together multiple functions in a single body.

So far, however, there is no official confirmation about the availability of the NA-G5 in the Brazilian market, despite Panasonic maintaining traditional lines of washers and washer-dryers in the country.

Although the brand has a national portfolio with different capacities and categories of home machines, the four-drum model is not yet listed as a regular product available in Brazil.

Integrated laundry technology redefines domestic use

Part of the buzz around the NA-G5 also stems from the visual impact caused by the four-drum design, something unusual in a category historically dominated by very similar devices.

More than adding capacity or connectivity, Panasonic physically reorganizes the path of clothes inside the machine, creating specific compartments to separate, dry, and care for different loads simultaneously.

With this proposal, the company signals a possible shift in the premium washer segment, reducing the reliance on multiple devices and concentrating functions that are normally spread throughout the laundry room.

For families dealing daily with children’s clothing, sportswear, delicate fabrics, and varied loads, the segmentation of drums appears as one of the main differentiators of this new generation of domestic machines.
