In response, Fiat has been working intensively on the new generation of the Argo, designed to take the place of both the current Argo and the Mobi. Rumors suggested that the model would bear similarities to the new version of the Panda, and the confirmation surprised the market, establishing the future of the Brazilian Argo as a compact SUV.
Argo Will Utilize a Shared Platform with the Citroën C3
The Fiat Panda, known internationally as a subcompact SUV, had a profile similar to the Uno, with all-wheel drive and a strong presence in the European market. With the new generation, Fiat defines the design of the Argo as an evolution of the Panda concept, now adapted to the demands of Brazilian consumers. The new Argo, prepared to meet local preferences, relies on the strength and reliability that the Panda represents, but with specifications and design developed for Brazil.
Although earlier rumors indicated that the Argo would utilize the platform of the Peugeot 208, Stellantis, which controls both brands, opted for a shared platform with the Citroën C3. This direction explains the replacement of both models with an economical and accessible car.
Compact Design and Modern Retro Style: New Fiat Argo Promises Sophistication and Essential Safety
With a length of 3.99 meters, the new Argo will have dimensions similar to the C3, maintaining a wheelbase of 2.54 meters and a width of 1.75 meters, making it an interesting option for those looking for a compact and efficient model.
The aesthetics of the new model stand out with a design that Fiat calls “modern retro.” At the front, it features a Black Piano grille, pronounced bumper, and LED headlights. The sides boast two-tone paint, roof rack, and the name “Panda” engraved in the body, along with diamond-cut 16-inch wheels.
At the rear, the car presents an integrated spoiler, gray details on the bumper, and full LED taillights interconnected by a Black Piano strip, with the Fiat name embossed on the hatch, reminiscent of the S10 and Ranger pickups.
While the interior of the new Argo has yet to be officially revealed, it is speculated that it will bring elements inspired by both the C3 and the Pulse. Among the possible features are an 8-inch digital panel, a 10-inch multimedia system, and synthetic leather upholstery.
However, as the model is based on the national C3, it is expected to include basic safety equipment such as traction control, stability, ABS brakes, and up to six airbags. However, it is not expected to include more advanced items found in its European version, such as collision warning, emergency braking, and pedestrian detection.
Mini SUV from Fiat Comes with 135 HP in Its Hybrid Version
The new Argo is expected to feature a 1.3 naturally aspirated four-cylinder flex engine, with a power output of up to 107 horsepower and torque of 13.9 kgf.m. This engine will be combined with a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic transmission with seven simulated speeds.
Additionally, the model will also debut Stellantis’ mild hybrid system in Brazil, with versions that will feature a 1.0 turbo three-cylinder engine with direct injection, coupled with a 48V electric system. With an estimated power of 135 horsepower and torque of approximately 22 kgf.m, the hybrid system will provide fuel savings between 10% and 15% compared to exclusively combustion models.
The new Fiat Argo 2025, which adopts a compact SUV profile, exhibits different fuel consumption averages depending on the engine and fuel type. According to data from the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV) by Inmetro, the new Fiat mini SUV is predicted to consume 14.7 km/l with gasoline and 10.2 km/l with ethanol on the highway.
New Generation of the Argo Will Be Officially Launched in Brazil in 2025 to Replace the Mobi and Become the Cheapest in Brazil
Currently, the Mobi is on promotion until December 3, with a reduced price of R$ 63,690.00 for the Like version, whose original price is R$ 74,990.00. Additionally, the entry-level version of the Argo also has a special offer! For those who prefer not to wait for the launch of the new Fiat mini SUV, there is the option to purchase the ARGO DRIVE 1.3 AT FLEX 4P 2025 directly on the official website of the automaker in Brazil, at an approximate price of R$ 77,190.00.
The long-awaited mini SUV Argo promises to cover a wide price range, starting close to the higher value of the Mobi, around R$ 76,000 in the basic version, and potentially exceeding R$ 115,000 in the most complete version. This premium version stands out for its 1.0 turbo engine with mild hybrid technology, which combines efficiency and performance.
What do you think of the changes in the new Argo? The bet on a shared platform and the focus on economy and accessibility could redefine Fiat’s position in the Brazilian market.
