The Future of the National Oil and Gas Sector Was the Subject of the Seminar with the Participation of ANP for Discussion of Guidelines and Strategies
One of the most discussed topics in Brazil in recent years is the national oil and gas sector, which faced one of its largest financial crises due to mismanagement by some directors and politicians. The event organizers gathered several professionals in the field to speak about the right direction to take and how to resume oil and gas businesses. ANP’s General Director Décio Oddone was one of the speakers and focused on the following topic, “Oil and Gas Sector in Brazil, Economic Impacts.” He spoke about the potential and opportunities for Brazil in the context of bidding rounds for exploration and production of oil and natural gas.
Upcoming Investments
The highlight of the seminar was the presentation by the general director, stating that by 2054, investments of R$ 1.8 trillion and revenues of R$ 6 trillion are expected. Totaling R$ 167 billion per year, which corresponds to Brazil’s current fiscal deficit.” According to Décio Oddone, there is potential for Brazil to produce 5.5 million barrels of oil per day by 2027, which means over 60 new platforms installed.
