The decision reorganizes the brand’s production, releases recent items, and maintains attention on products manufactured before the authorized date
The National Health Surveillance Agency authorized, on May 29, 2026, the resumption of production at the Ypê factory in Amparo, in the interior of São Paulo. The decision also released the sale and use of products manufactured from April 1, 2026, after a new health inspection confirmed advances in the required corrections. The measure affects Química Amparo, responsible for the Ypê brand, and comes after the presentation of a plan to meet requirements made by regulatory bodies. The move allows liquid laundry detergents, liquid dishwashing detergents, and disinfectants produced after the authorized date to return to the market, while some of the old batches remain under restriction.
Health inspection allowed the factory to resume
The release occurred after a joint inspection by Anvisa, the São Paulo Health Surveillance Center, the Campinas Health Surveillance Group, and the Amparo Health Surveillance. During the process, Química Amparo presented a plan to meet 76 health requirements pointed out by the inspectors. The measures involved adjustments in manufacturing, tracking, quality control, and monitoring of possible risks. Therefore, the agency considered it possible to allow the resumption of activities at the industrial unit. However, monitoring will continue, as the factory’s release does not end the analysis of corrective actions.
Products released and batches still suspended
The authorization is only valid for products manufactured from April 1, 2026. Items produced after this date can be sold and used, according to Anvisa’s decision. However, detergents, liquid laundry soaps, and disinfectants with batches ending in “1” remain blocked, as they were manufactured until March 31, 2026. These products still depend on laboratory reports made by units authorized by the agency. Anvisa also advised that the suspended items remain stored in a safe place and not be discarded.

Suspension began after inspection in May
The case began on May 7, 2026, when Anvisa suspended more than 100 batches of Ypê. At the time, inspectors pointed out serious flaws in the processes of the factory located in Amparo. The inspection also identified the risk of microbiological contamination in products manufactured at the industrial plant. The episode gained significance because the company had already reported, in November 2025, contamination by Pseudomonas aeruginosa in laundry detergent products. According to Anvisa, the actions were preventive in nature and aimed to reduce possible health risks to the population.
Monitoring will continue after reopening
Even with the resumption of production, Anvisa reported that it will continue to monitor the corrective measures adopted by Química Amparo. The products still retained can only return to the market after safety is proven through laboratory tests. The release, therefore, reorganizes the situation of the factory but maintains attention on batches prior to the authorized date. This monitoring will be decisive in determining when the blocked products can return to the shelves.
In this scenario, will sanitary inspection be able to restore consumer confidence in the products returning to the market?
