With Full Operational Forecast in 2020, Work at the UTE Sergipe Port Is Being Conducted by General Electric and Celse

[supsystic-social-sharing id=’1′]The work at the UTE Port Sergipe will be the largest in its category in Latin America with a budget that exceeds 5 billion reais and is entirely carried out by private companies in the state. Once the UTE is operational, it will generate more than 1,700 direct jobs. At this moment, the construction has just begun, but there is still the possibility of more people being hired, according to the company’s announcement on social media. But before learning how to apply for a position, get to know a little more about the project that is divided into 3 phases: Maritime Installations, Sergipe Port Thermoelectric Plant, and Transmission Line.

  • Maritime Installations – To capture natural gas, the project includes maritime installations such as the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (ship), anchoring system, and the gas pipeline, which is responsible for transporting natural gas to the Sergipe Port Thermoelectric Plant (UTE).
  • Sergipe Port Thermoelectric Plant – The Sergipe Port Thermoelectric Plant is located in Barra dos Coqueiros and will be responsible for converting natural gas into electricity. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, the plant’s construction is conducted by General Electric – GE and includes three HA gas turbines and one steam turbine, in addition to recovering heat. This is the first project in Brazil to receive this HA turbine model, which was awarded the Guinness World Records for its high efficiency rate in converting fuel energy into electricity.
  • Transmission Line – With a length of 33Km, the 500 kV Transmission Line will carry the energy generated at the Sergipe Port Thermoelectric Plant to the Jardim Substation, located in the municipality of Nossa Senhora do Socorro (SE), in order to reach consumption centers.
