The Support Vessel Market in Brazil
Currently, nine vessels of this type provide services to Petrobras and other support vessels, such as the Skandi Commander, Skandi Chieftain, and Skandi Olympia.
Proving the positive phase of chartering support vessels, on June 7, the Skandi Hav vessel owned by DOF had its contract extended once again by Petrobras.
The announcement of the contract extension for an additional year is effective from this month.
According to Abeam (Brazilian Association of Maritime Support Companies), the other eight RSVs operating in the country in March were Joe Griffin and Wildebeest from the Edison Chouest group; CBO Campos, CBO Guanabara, CBO Isabella, and CBO Manoella from Companhia Brasileira de Offshore; Far Saga (SolstadFarstad); Fugro Aquarius (Fugro); and Sealion Amazônia and Toisa Valiant (Sealion).
