New Yamaha Electric Bike Delivers Up to 25 km/h and Features 12 Automatic Gears to Help Cyclists Focus on Pedaling.
Yamaha has teamed up with Swedish company Husqvarna to launch a new versatile electric bike capable of riding in both large cities and rough terrains. The Yamaha electric bike, named Grand Pather 2024, also features technology that helps users focus solely on pedaling.
New Yamaha Electric Bike Reaches Up to 25 km/h
The Grand Pather 2024 has been described as the most adaptable and innovative touring electric bike, ideal for commuting as well as tackling complex terrains. Yamaha’s new electric bike line features three versions: GP6, GP5, and GP4, each with different low or high frames, cables, and customizable settings.
The first two versions come with a Yamaha PW-X3 motor with 85 Nm of torque and a 720 Wh battery. The top speed is 25 km/h with five levels of pedal assistance. It is also tech-savvy, featuring an automatic mode that allows users to concentrate on pedaling instead of shifting gears, along with 12 speeds.

What Is the Price of the New Yamaha Electric Bike?
The Yamaha electric bike is expected to hit the market in the first quarter of this year, starting at €3,999, roughly R$21.5 thousand in direct conversion, not accounting for shipping to Brazil or any taxes. It’s important to note that in addition to this e-bike, Yamaha introduced two new electric bike concepts last year, officially presented during the Japan Mobility Show 2023.
The Y-01W AWD model features two electric motors and all-wheel drive, while the Y-00Z MTB comes with an electronically controlled hydraulic steering system.
According to media reports, the Y-01 AWD concept includes two electric motors, one in each wheel, classified as a two-wheel drive electric bike. Additionally, the Yamaha electric bike contains two batteries designed to provide longer rides. The second model is the Y-00Z MTB, an electric mountain bike equipped with a sophisticated electronically controlled hydraulic steering system.
Advantages of Having an Electric Bike
An electric bike, also known as an e-bike, is a bicycle equipped with an electric motor that offers pedaling assistance. This motor aids the cyclist, making pedaling easier and allowing for higher speeds.
The advantages of having an electric bike include pedaling assistance, reducing physical effort, increased average speed compared to conventional bikes, ease in climbing hills and steep terrains, and the option to choose between pedal-assist or fully electric modes.
Other benefits include greater range and autonomy with the batteries, accessibility for different cyclist profiles, reduced physical effort during rides, time and energy savings in daily commutes, contribution to sustainability by avoiding motorized vehicles, and greater use for recreational activities, among others.
