The project aims to review contracts and implement solar energy generation in the annex buildings of the Esplanade of Ministries, which will reduce costs by up to 90%.
According to President Bolsonaro’s publication, “The measures are part of the ‘Sustainable Esplanade’ initiative, which aims to promote the adoption of management models focused on the rational use of natural resources and environmental and economic sustainability.”
The program provides for the installation of micro photovoltaic plants, which, aligned with current environmental awareness not only from the government but from everyone, has sparked many projects focusing on both the economic and environmental sides.

Cheaper than new HB20, Onix, and Argo, this German sedan offers a 510-liter trunk, a 2.0 naturally aspirated engine, a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, and well-known mechanics; the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta Comfortline still draws attention in the used car market.
In addition to the installation of the plants, Bolsonaro said that the government’s idea is to provide a portal with information for contractual re-adjustment, aiming to reduce expenses with energy consumption.
The government’s estimate is to save about R$ 2.6 million per year, and six direct administration agencies have already started contractual reviews, but the idea is to replicate the actions for other agencies and federal public institutions.
The portal will have consumption data from all agencies in the Esplanade of Ministries and will help Bolsonaro’s government team with better decision-making.
The Project
The project is a partnership of the Research and Development Center for Excellence and Transformation in the public sector, from UnB and CEB (DF).
Federal agencies located in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are already analyzing their accounts in partnership with energy suppliers Enel Distribuição São Paulo (SP) and Light (RJ).
The Ministry of Mines and Energy already generates part of the energy it consumes, as it has, since 2016, 154 solar panels installed on the roof of its headquarters building, and the power of the plant is 60kWp.
