The only oil and gas licensing round in Brazil this year will be held on December 3, said the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) last Friday (11).
The open area program (Permanent Offering) will offer 708 exploratory blocks in the basins of Camamu-Almada, Campos, Ceará, Espírito Santo, Jacuípe, Pelotas, Pernambuco-Paraíba, Potiguar, Santos, and Sergipe-Alagoas, as well as three marginal oil accumulation areas: Rio Ibiribas (Espírito Santo), Miranga (Recôncavo), and Juruá (Solimões).
Currently, 57 companies are registered to participate in the bidding, including major international groups such as ExxonMobil, Karoon, Murphy Oil, Petrobras, Premier Oil, Rosneft, Shell, Total, and Wintershall. The registration details and the complete list of companies can be accessed here.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the government planned to hold three other oil and gas licensing rounds: the 17th concession and the 2nd rights transfer round, which were postponed to 2021, and the 7th production sharing round, which is yet to be scheduled.
