Military exercise held at São Paulo Air Base gathered personnel from the General Support Command, reinforced physical preparation and presented the use of war dogs in security, protection, containment, and detection actions during an internal activity of the Brazilian Air Force.

More than 300 military personnel from the Brazilian Air Force participated on June 9th in a March Exercise held within the perimeter of the São Paulo Air Base, in the capital of São Paulo, in an activity promoted by the General Support Command.

The program gathered members of COMGAP itself and subordinate Military Organizations, focusing on the physical preparation of the personnel, strengthening military culture, and maintaining operational readiness, according to information released by the FAB.

Within the activity, military personnel from the Security and Defense Group demonstrated techniques for employing war dogs in protection actions, suspect containment, and detection aimed at narcotics.

The march was also attended by the General Support Commander, Air Lieutenant Brigadier Valter Borges Malta, general officers, and other members of the Force, in an action organized within the routine of preparation and integration of the personnel.

Military march gathered COMGAP personnel in São Paulo

In the route carried out within the São Paulo Air Base, military personnel from different sectors linked to the General Support Command participated in an activity aimed at internal cohesion, esprit de corps, and joint action.

Throughout the movement, participants exercised aspects valued in military training, such as discipline, physical endurance, commitment to the mission, and group coordination, without restricting the proposal to just physical conditioning.

The Air Force reported that the march also contributed to keeping the personnel familiar with activities inherent to the military profession, preserving barracks values and the readiness required to fulfill the FAB’s duties.

War dogs demonstrated at São Paulo Air Base

One of the stages of the program was under the responsibility of military personnel from the Security and Defense Group, who demonstrated the use of war dogs in situations of guard, protection, suspect containment, and narcotics detection.

With the presentation, the FAB highlighted the use of animals as support for security and defense actions, always under the guidance of the military responsible for training and control during the demonstrated activities.

This type of demonstration allows the internal public to see how dogs can enhance response capabilities in scenarios that require surveillance, threat identification, and operational support to security teams.

Besides the march, the program brought different areas of the organization together around a common agenda, considered by the Force an important element to keep the troops prepared and aligned in collective procedures.

Exercise reinforced conditioning and operational readiness

Among the objectives of the activity was the encouragement of habits focused on physical conditioning, as body preparation is part of the military routine and relates to the ability to respond in situations that require endurance and discipline.

During the march, the troops also worked on collective action, and the FAB reported that the exercise promoted integration between sectors of the organization and strengthened teamwork.

The presence of military personnel from COMGAP and subordinate units expanded the internal reach of the activity, bringing together different members of the Air Force’s support structure in a single preparation agenda.

Linked to support areas of the FAB, the General Support Command directed its personnel’s participation towards preparation, integration, and reinforcement of practices associated with the military routine.

Commander highlighted return to the principles of military training

Commenting on the initiative, Air Lieutenant Brigadier Valter Borges Malta associated the march with the principles acquired since the beginning of military training, in a statement released by the Brazilian Air Force.

“It is always good to return to our origins, to the principles acquired since military enlistment. We need to be prepared for combat, ready to support, and committed to giving our best for the benefit of the Homeland,” stated the General Support Commander.

The statement reinforced the meaning attributed by the FAB to the exercise, presented as an action of preparation and appreciation of military culture, with physical training, integration between sectors, and operational demonstration.

Conducted within the perimeter of the São Paulo Air Base, the activity took place in a military area and involved personnel from the Force itself, with programming aimed at the military involved in the COMGAP routine.

In the preparation agenda, the march aimed to keep military personnel fit for the demands of the career, while the demonstration of the war dogs showcased one of the capabilities employed in support of security and defense actions.
