Recently, a gesture of honesty moved the residents of Lins, a city located about 139 km from Tanabi. Marcos, 35, and Juliana, 32, owners of the restaurant Resenha Bar, returned a Pix of R$ 61 thousand sent by mistake. The correct amount was only R$ 61, related to a takeout meal.

The mistake happened on a Thursday, when a businessman in the automotive industry typed three extra zeros while making the payment.

The error was only noticed later, when Marcos checked the statements and noticed the unusual deposit.

Without hesitation, the couple decided to return the entire amount. “We didn’t even wait for him to say anything. We returned it immediately. We do what’s right; God is always watching,” said Marcos.

The businessman, surprised by their attitude, stated that he only realized the mistake after being contacted by the restaurant owner himself.

The story spread rapidly on social media and became an example in the region. Residents praised the couple’s stance and highlighted the importance of ethical behavior in times of distrust.
