Caterpillar Reaches 300,000 Construction Machines Manufactured in Brazil and Celebrates with Large Investments and New Job Openings

Exactly 60 years after producing the first motor grader in Brazil, Caterpillar celebrates a historic milestone by reaching 300,000 construction machines manufactured in the country. To complement the celebration, the company completed a BRL 600 million investment in modernizing the Piracicaba factory. According to the president of Caterpillar Brazil, the amount of BRL 600 million is included in the five-year investment cycle, which began in mid-2018 and is expected to conclude in 2023. The plans include building the largest assembly line for motor graders in Latin America, which became operational last August. Additionally, the investment included the acquisition of new production equipment, such as welding robots, the introduction of new industrial processes, and the optimization of the factory layout.

Caterpillar is the largest manufacturer of construction equipment in Brazil. The factories in Piracicaba-SP and Campo Largo-PR together produce various models and sizes of motor graders, loaders, crawler tractors, excavators, backhoes, and compactors.
