Federal Court of Accounts Announces New Exam with 60 Vacancies for Brasília; Opportunities Are for High School and Higher Education Levels and Include a Reserve Registration.
The Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) will open a new public exam for the filling of 60 positions, all intended for the city of Brasília, in the Federal District.
The authorization for the exam was published in this Monday’s edition of the Official Federal Gazette.
The opportunities are for positions at the high school and higher education levels, with chances also for forming a reserve registration.

The vacancies are for federal auditor of external control and technical federal of external control.
The details about salaries, benefits, and the rules for participation will still be disclosed in the registration opening notice, which does not have a confirmed date.
Available Positions and Requirements
In total, the exam will offer 20 vacancies for the position of federal auditor of external control, which requires higher education, with training depending on the desired specialty.
The position is aimed at professionals with specific training and is usually highly competitive, especially for those who already have experience in audits and inspections.
The other 40 vacancies are for federal technical positions of external control, requiring high school education. It is an opportunity for candidates who have completed high school and are seeking stability in public service.
The notice will also provide for a reserve registration for both positions. This means that even if the number of approved candidates exceeds the 60 immediate vacancies, there will be a chance for future appointments, depending on the agency’s needs and the validity of the exam.
Work Location: Brasília
All positions available in this exam have placement in Brasília, headquarters of the Federal Court of Accounts. It is important that candidates are aware of this information before applying, as there will be no vacancies for other states or options for choosing a location.
Brasília hosts most federal agencies and, therefore, is a common destination for those wishing to work in federal public careers. However, relocating to a different city may require financial and family planning, especially for candidates living in other regions of the country.
When Will the Notice Be Released?
Although the authorization has already been published in the Official Gazette, the registration opening notice does not yet have a defined deadline. The document will include all the rules of the exam, including the syllabus, evaluation criteria, registration dates, exam periods, and other guidelines.
Those who intend to participate should stay tuned for upcoming publications from the TCU or the federal government. The recommendation for interested candidates is to start preparing as soon as possible, especially those who wish to compete for auditor positions, whose content tends to be more extensive and technical.
What to Study Right Now
Even before the release of the notice, many candidates begin studying based on the previous TCU exams. Generally, the tests for technical positions include subjects such as Portuguese language, logical reasoning, computer science, current affairs, and fundamentals of public administration.
On the other hand, the exams for auditors often require deeper knowledge, such as accounting, government auditing, administrative law, constitutional law, and financial and budgetary management.
It is important to remember that the details about the subjects and the structure of the exam will only be available in the official notice. Therefore, any planning should be based on previous notices only as a reference, without a guarantee that the requirements will remain the same.
Other Ongoing Selections
In addition to the TCU exam, the federal government confirmed that it will conduct, still this year, the second edition of the Unified National Exam (CNU).
The selection will offer 3,352 vacancies for 35 federal agencies, with exams scheduled for October and December. The notice is planned for July.
Despite this, the TCU opted not to join the CNU, maintaining the organization of its own exam, with rules independent of the unified model. This means that candidates interested in TCU vacancies will need to follow a specific selection process.
