New Municipal Contest Will Have Announcement by May, With Exams Scheduled for the Second Semester and Opportunities in Education, Health, and General Services
On April 28, 2025, the city of Sorocaba officially contracted the Vunesp Foundation to conduct its next public contest. The Official Gazette of the Municipality published the decision, and the Human Resources Department confirmed it. The municipality authorized 127 vacancies for positions in education, health, and general services. The city expects to publish the announcement by the end of May 2025 and hold the exams later this year.
Vacancies for the Sorocaba City Hall Contest Are Divided into Three Sectors
The Administration Department defined the distribution of vacancies based on a technical survey conducted in March 2025. The division encompasses priority areas of municipal administration. The opportunities cover different levels of education and functions.
Education Sector in the Sorocaba City Hall Contest 2025 Will Have the Largest Number of Vacancies
The educational area will have the largest number of vacancies. Opportunities are expected for School Director, Deputy School Director, Teaching Supervisor, and Pedagogical Advisor, with one vacancy for each position. Additionally, 25 vacancies will be offered for Basic Education Teacher I and one vacancy for each area of Basic Education Teacher II, in the subjects of Physical Education, Arts, Science, Geography, History, English, Portuguese Language, and Mathematics. There will also be 20 vacancies for Education Assistant, two vacancies for Student Inspector, and one vacancy for School Secretary. Appointments are expected to take place by the end of 2025, depending on demand and budget availability.

Health Sector in the Sorocaba City Hall Contest 2025 Will Get Reinforcements in UBSs
The health sector will have opportunities for Nurse, with two vacancies available, as well as three vacancies for General Practitioner, 27 for Gynecologist, 24 for Pediatrician, and one vacancy for Speech Therapist. According to the Health Department, the professionals will work in basic health units, aiming to expand service coverage.
General Services
The announcement will also include operational and maintenance functions. Three vacancies are expected for Cemetery Service Agent, two vacancies for General Helper, one for Plumber, one for Gardener, and two for Painter. The Public Services Department reported that these hires are planned for the second semester.
Vunesp Foundation Will Be the Responsible Agency for All Stages of the Contest
The Vunesp Foundation was officially contracted in late April 2025, through a bidding exemption. The institution, founded in 1979, has a recognized track record in public contests in the state of São Paulo. The selection of the agency aims to ensure the organization and transparency of the selection process.
Announcement Will Be Published by the End of May, According to the City Hall
The city of Sorocaba confirmed on May 2, 2025, that the announcement is almost ready, i.e., in the final stages of preparation. Therefore, the expectation is that the document will be published by May 31, 2025, reinforcing the planned schedule. Additionally, registrations will occur only through the Vunesp Foundation website, centralizing the entire process. The exams, in turn, are scheduled for the second semester, between August and September, according to a timeline still under discussion.
