A Great News for Those Who Wish to Join the Federal Highway Police (PRF). The institution has submitted a new request for a public competition for the high school level. According to the QConcursos website, 235 positions were requested for the position of administrative agent.
According to the cited website, the information is in a letter sent by the institution to Ricardo Lewandowski, Minister of Justice and Public Security.
This document highlights the need for “authorization to hold a public competition aimed at providing 235 (two hundred and thirty-five) positions for the position of Administrative Agent, in the personnel framework of the Special Plan of Positions of the Federal Highway Police.”
This is intended to “fill the vacancies in the referred career, the provision of which is expected to occur from January 2025, if the competition is authorized.”

Additionally, the PRF reinforces that this submission must be made by May 31 to the Ministry of Management and Innovation (MGI). The date refers to the deadline that all federal agencies have to submit their requests to the department.
Ten Years Without a Competition
It has been ten years since the PRF held the last competition for administrative agents. The corporation submits requests to hold the competition annually but remains without authorization.
The Position of Administrative Agent at the PRF
In the last competition, the minimum requirements for candidates were to have a diploma, duly registered, of completion of a high school course (formerly secondary education), provided by an educational institution recognized by the MEC. In this role, civil servants are expected to perform intermediate-level administrative activities related to the legal competencies of the Federal Highway Police, providing technical-administrative support to the finalistic area of the Institution.
The Salary of Those Approved
According to data from the transparency portal, today, the remuneration for the position is R$ 6,173.31. This amount consists of the basic salary, plus a 100-point bonus, plus a 9% adjustment, and food assistance of R$ 658.
The Last Competition
The last competition by the PRF for the position was conducted by the Carlos Augusto Bittencourt Foundation (Funcab). In total, in the competition, which was regionalized, 477 approved candidates were hired. In this competition, the state with the most hires was Rio Grande do Sul, with 53 appointments. Following were Santa Catarina, with 42, and Minas Gerais, with 30.
The Exam
In the last competition, there were 3 hours and 30 minutes for the exam. In total, there were 60 questions on the following topics:
24 Questions of Basic Knowledge:
- Portuguese Language (12);
- Ethics and Public Conduct (6);
- Logical Reasoning (6).
36 Questions of Specific Knowledge:
- Fundamentals of Constitutional Law (6);
- Fundamentals of Administrative Law (6);
- Fundamentals of Administration (6);
- Fundamentals of Archival Science (6);
- Fundamentals of Computer Science (6);
- Legislation Related to the PRF (6).
Each question in the Specific section was worth 1.5 points, while in Basic Knowledge, the items in Portuguese Language counted for two points, and the items from other subjects counted one point.
