Meet the Impulse, a Portable Induction Cooker That Promises to Revolutionize the Kitchen with a Powerful Battery, Dispensing Complex Electrical Installations and the Use of Gas.
A startup is innovating the appliance market with a battery-powered induction cooker, similar to the technology used in Tesla cars. The promise is more energy efficiency, safety, and a versatility never seen before in the kitchen.
What Is the Battery-Powered Cooker of the Future?
The future of the kitchen may no longer depend on wires or gas. The company Shaser developed the Impulse, a two-burner induction cooker that is fully portable. Its main differentiator is that it operates with a lithium-ion internal battery, which eliminates the need to connect it to an outlet during use, offering more freedom and efficiency.
Battery Technology Inspired by Electric Vehicles
The technology behind this cooker of the future is familiar to those following the electric vehicle market. The device uses a 2.1 kWh battery, with an architecture similar to those that power vehicles. This powerful battery allows the cooker to reach up to 1,800 W, a capacity similar to many induction models that require 220V outlets.

How Does the Portable Induction Cooker Work?

Using the Impulse is simple. Just charge its battery at a standard 120V outlet. According to the manufacturer, a full charge is enough for the cooking needs of an average family for an entire week. With stored energy, the cooker can be taken and used anywhere in the house, or even outside.
Advantages and Energy Efficiency
Efficiency is one of the strong points of the cooker of the future. The induction technology transfers about 85% of the heat directly to the pot. In comparison, traditional gas stoves only utilize 35% of the energy generated. Additionally, being electric and portable, it eliminates the need for more powerful outlet installations and the risks associated with using gas, such as leaks and pollutant emissions.
Price and Availability of the Cooker of the Future
The Impulse is already available for pre-order. The launch price of the innovative cooker is US$ 1,495, which is approximately R$ 7,200 in direct conversion. The first units will start being delivered to consumers in the United States from November. There is still no forecast for arrival in the Brazilian market.
