Uefs Opened 300 Slots for Free Python Courses Focused on Programming and Professional Qualification for Students and Teachers.
The State University of Feira de Santana (Uefs) opened 300 slots for free programming courses in Python, aimed at students and teachers from high school.
Enrollment is open until January 31 and must be done via an online form. The initiative takes place in Feira de Santana, with both online and in-person classes, thus broadening opportunities for professional qualification and access to programming.
From the beginning, the project prioritizes the democratization of technology education. By offering free courses, Uefs increases the exposure of young people and educators to the world of programming, an area increasingly valued in the job market.

Introductory Python Course as an Entry Point
The introductory Python course, often mistakenly called Phyton by beginners, directly caters to those with no prior programming experience. Additionally, Uefs distributed 300 slots across different classes, with schedules defined by tutors, facilitating participation from diverse audiences.
With a total workload of 90 hours, the course covers the fundamentals of the language, programming logic, and problem-solving. Classes take place twice a week, mostly online, but there are also in-person classes for students living in Feira de Santana.
Professional Qualification and Educational Impact
By investing in free programming courses, Uefs reinforces its role in promoting professional qualification. Mastering Python opens opportunities in fields such as technology, education, and data analysis, in addition to developing skills such as logical reasoning and intellectual autonomy.
Moreover, classes are taught by undergraduate students in Computer Engineering at Uefs, under the guidance of the project coordination. Thus, the initiative benefits both participants and instructors, who gain practical and pedagogical experience.
Advanced Training in Competitive Programming
In addition to the introductory course, the university also offers 30 slots for training courses in competitive programming. These courses are aimed at preparation for the Brazilian Computer Olympiad (OBI) and the Programming Marathon of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC).
The focus is on developing algorithms, solving complex problems, and teamwork. Thus, the training represents an advanced stage of professional qualification for students who wish to deepen their knowledge in programming.
In-Person Classes and Digital Organization
The training for the SBC Programming Marathon takes place exclusively in person, at the Less Laboratory, located in the Labotec III building at Uefs. Classes occur on Mondays from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM in an intensive format.
Meanwhile, the course coordination provides the complete schedule and weekly planning on the official Discord server. Thus, the platform centralizes communication, student support, and material distribution.
How to Participate in the Free Courses
Those interested must register by January 31 using the electronic form provided by Uefs. The slots are limited, and the project solidifies as one of the main current opportunities for those seeking free courses, wishing to learn programming in Python, and investing in professional qualification.
