Hyundai HB20 Soars In Sales And Takes The Top Of The Partial Ranking For September, Leaving Behind Traditional Rivals Like Polo, Argo, And Corolla Cross. Fiat Strada Maintains Hegemony Among Light Commercials, With Consistent Growth Compared To August.

The Hyundai HB20 has taken the lead among vehicles in the partial for September, with 5,063 units registered by September 13, 2025.

The volume represents a 46.8% increase compared to the daily average of August and puts the hatch ahead of the Volkswagen Polo (4,576, down 22%), Fiat Argo (3,243, down 29.3%), and direct competitors Toyota Corolla Cross (3,202, –9%) and Chevrolet Onix (3,130, +18.4%).

The data is partial for the month and is based on figures reported to the market, with reference from Fenabrave.

HB20 Gains Advantage In The Partial For September

The HB20’s surge in the second week of the month pushed the Polo to second place among vehicles.

While the Volkswagen declined compared to its performance in August, the Hyundai ramped up its sales pace and narrowed the gap in the year-to-date totals.

Still in the upper tier, the Argo ranks third with 3,243 registrations, closely followed by the Corolla Cross, which maintains a level above 3,000 units despite a slight retraction.

Transitioning to the second block of the top 10, the Hyundai Creta totaled 2,789 registrations (-7.7%), and the Volkswagen T-Cross closed the week with 2,632 (-24.8%).

Shortly after, the Volkswagen Tera appeared with 2,608 and a 38% increase over the previous average.

Among compact SUVs, Chevrolet Tracker (2,562, +14.1%) and Nissan Kicks (2,298, +6.7%) maintained a growth trajectory.

Sedans And Hatches Complete The Top 20

In the passenger model segment, the Fiat Fastback reached 2,189 (-4.4%), and the sedan Onix Plus recorded 2,136 (+1.5%).

The Hyundai HB20S surged and totaled 1,958 (+91.4%), indicating recovery among three-volume vehicles.

Also among compacts and crossovers, the Volkswagen Nivus stood at 1,885 (-9%), Jeep Renegade at 1,847 (+25.9%), and Jeep Compass at 1,842 (-14.1%).

Further down, the Honda HR-V noted 1,828 (-0.2%), the Renault Kwid registered 1,820 (-20.3%), and the Fiat Mobi had 1,795 (-43.9%).

Closing the top twenty best-selling passenger cars, the Caoa Chery Tiggo 7 accumulated 1,604 (-0.3%).

Light Commercials: Strada Maintains Leadership And Expands Gap

Among light commercials, the Fiat Strada holds the lead with 5,913 units by the 13th, a 9.9% increase compared to August.

In second place is the Volkswagen Saveiro, with 2,942 registrations and a growth of 20.8%.

The mid-size pickup Fiat Toro follows next, totaling 2,127 (+47.1%).

In fourth place, the Toyota Hilux counts 1,804 (+11.2%).

Still in the top 10 of commercials, the Chevrolet S10 reached 1,216 (+14.3%), and the Ford Ranger finished with 1,170 (-2.1%).

The compact Chevrolet Montana recorded 994 (+32%), while the Fiat Fiorino reached 861 (+6.5%).

The Ram Rampage totaled 699 (-21.2%) and the Renault Master closed the block with 575 (+9.2%).

Next, the Mitsubishi L200 Triton registered 485 (+5.9%), the Renault Oroch recorded 307 (-29.6%), and the Ford Maverick reached 240 (+10.2%).

The commercial Daily 30-130 hit 230 (+110%), the Nissan Frontier reached 168 (+68%), and the Renault Kangoo reached 154 (-2.9%).

Finishing the list are the Fiat Titano with 110 (-22.2%), the MAN-VW Express with 107 (+27.9%), the DFSK V21 with 107, and the Ford Transit with 102 (-8%).

Market Closure Projection For September

Based on the partial figures, the sector’s reading indicates a projected closure of over 210 thousand units in the total Brazilian market for September, considering vehicles and light commercials.

When crossing the two baskets of products, the Strada appears as the most registered vehicle in the partial, followed by HB20 and Polo.

The overall list until September 13 also includes Fiat Argo, Toyota Corolla Cross, Chevrolet Onix, and Volkswagen Saveiro among the top ten, along with Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen T-Cross, and Volkswagen Tera.

The presence of SUVs at the top of the table reinforces the strength of the segment in monthly sales, while compact hatches maintain space among the top five.

Battle For Leadership This Year

In the year-to-date totals for 2025 (YTD-25), the Fiat Strada retains the lead with 93,337 units, ahead of the Volkswagen Polo (87,637).

The difference between them is 5,700 vehicles.

Following are the Fiat Argo with 67,771, Volkswagen T-Cross with 63,884, and the Hyundai HB20 with 55,043.

Next are the Chevrolet Onix (51,023), Fiat Mobi (50,169), and Hyundai Creta (48,469).
