During An Attempt To Tow A Ford F-150 With His Indestructible Cybertruck, An American Citizen Had An Unbelievable Surprise.
The Tesla Cybertruck, designed by Elon Musk, is widely advertised as an indestructible vehicle, capable of withstanding severe environments and an impressive towing capacity of nearly 5 tons. A video is available at the end of the post comparing Tesla and Ford.
However, questions arise about how much of this marketing translates into reality. WhistlinDiesel, a YouTuber known for testing vehicles in extreme conditions, decided to check this by putting the Cybertruck against one of the best-selling trucks in the U.S., the Ford F-150. The video, which has already surpassed 25 million views, explores the true performance of the Cybertruck.
The Challenge: Tesla vs Ford F-150

The first part of the video shows WhistlinDiesel expressing his frustration with some features of the Tesla Cybertruck. One example is the Full-Self Driving system, which cost over US$ 9,000 and, according to him, does not work as promised.

He then starts a series of tests, beginning with a rough terrain challenge, where the Cybertruck’s suspension is raised to 152 mm. Despite some scratches and alerts from the system, the Cybertruck performs well, while the Ford F-150 also makes it through but with more difficulties.
Tests In Extreme Environments: As the tests progress, the Tesla Cybertruck excels in off-road conditions. In increasingly rigorous challenges, the Ford F-150 struggles to maintain performance, often needing assistance to continue.
The Cybertruck, with its robust design, seems unbeatable in more extreme terrains, reinforcing its reputation as a high-resistance vehicle. However, this initial dominance is soon put to the test.
The Myth Of The Indestructibility Of The Tesla Cybertruck
Elon Musk has always emphasized the durability of the Cybertruck, promising that the vehicle would be nearly indestructible, with an exoskeleton resistant to even subsonic projectiles. However, during WhistlinDiesel’s tests, this myth began to crumble.
During a towing test with the Ford F-150, the Cybertruck’s structure suffered considerable damage. Parts of the body came loose after the vehicle attempted to pull the F-150, something that should not occur in a vehicle with a stated towing capacity of 5 tons.
Moreover, the production model of the Cybertruck does not match the promises initially made by Musk. The range, which was supposed to be up to 800 km, was significantly reduced, and the suspension design was heavily criticized.
Final Showdown: Cybertruck vs F-150
The most awaited moment of the video occurs when the Ford F-150 is pitted against the Cybertruck in a direct towing test. Although the Cybertruck managed to pull the F-150, the force of the test compromised the rear section of the Cybertruck’s chassis.
Interestingly, later in the test, the Cybertruck itself got stuck in the mud and had to be rescued by the F-150, completely reversing the expected narrative.
In the final part of the video, both trucks were subjected to an extreme test: explosives were detonated at their rear ends to assess the durability of each vehicle. The Cybertruck showed fewer visual damages after the test, but the Ford F-150 proved to be more durable overall, remaining drivable even after severe damage.
Durability: Which Truck Performs Better?
After all the brutal tests, the Ford F-150 was declared the winner, with a narrow margin of 5 to 4 in terms of overall durability. For many truck owners, especially those who use their vehicles in heavy situations, durability and reliability are essential factors.
Although Elon Musk’s Cybertruck impressed in technological aspects and has superior towing capacity, the F-150 remains the preferred choice when it comes to reliability in real-world conditions.
The test between the Tesla Cybertruck and the Ford F-150 serves as a reminder that futuristic design and bold promises do not always guarantee superiority in everyday situations.
The Cybertruck, while offering cutting-edge technology and a unique look, still needs to prove its toughness in prolonged uses. Meanwhile, the Ford F-150, with its more traditional design, continues to be the reliable choice for many drivers who need a robust and durable vehicle.
When choosing between innovation and reliability, balance between the two continues to be the key to making the best decision.
