Exclusive ethanol version repositions the Onix Plus 2027 in Chevrolet’s lineup and expands the competition with the HB20S among compact sedans, in a segment where price, consumption, trunk space, and automatic transmission weigh on the purchase decision.
Chevrolet introduced the Onix Plus 2027 in the Brazilian market with the arrival of the Turbo AT ECO version, powered exclusively by ethanol, promotional price of R$ 103,990 and a proposal centered on energy efficiency, usage cost, and commercial repositioning among compact sedans.
With the new configuration, the model now features an automatic option at a reduced price compared to the Onix Plus Turbo AT flex, in a competitive scenario with the Hyundai HB20S in category sales.
The sedan maintains the base already used by the Onix family but incorporates a specific solution for this version: engine calibrated only for ethanol, without flex operation, according to the technical information released by Chevrolet.

With a new 2.2 turbo diesel engine of 200 hp, 45.9 kgfm torque, eight-speed automatic transmission, and fully recalibrated suspension, the Fiat Titano Ranch 2026 reduces the 0 to 100 km/h time to 9.9 seconds, addresses the main criticisms of the model, and establishes itself among the most competitive mid-size pickups in Brazil.
According to the manufacturer, the configuration was developed to meet the criteria of the Sustainable Car Program, with the application of tax benefits in the final price offered to the consumer during the launch phase.
Onix Plus ECO uses turbo engine calibrated for ethanol
The ECO version uses the 1.0 turbo three-cylinder engine from the Onix family, associated with a six-speed automatic transmission, a set already present in other configurations of Chevrolet’s compact sedan.
The main difference is in the ethanol-dedicated calibration, performed by software, without significant mechanical changes in the engine architecture, according to the technical information released by the manufacturer.

To adapt the set to the vegetable fuel, Chevrolet reported making adjustments to ignition, combustion control, and peripheral systems management, preserving the mechanical base used in flex versions.
The chief product engineer of GM South America, Fabio Morgan, stated that the strategy allowed creating an automatic configuration aligned with the incentive program’s proposal.
The consumption numbers released by the manufacturer indicate a difference compared to the equivalent flex version when fueled with ethanol, considering the cycle used in the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program.
In the road cycle, the Onix Plus ECO records 11.1 km/l of ethanol, while the equivalent flex configuration reaches 10.9 km/l with the same fuel, according to data provided by Chevrolet.
There was also a change in the performance data presented by the brand for the 2027 line, with a reduction in acceleration time and recovery compared to the flex version fueled with ethanol.
Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is now done in 10.5 seconds, while recovery from 80 to 120 km/h was reported at 8.3 seconds by the manufacturer.
Price of Chevrolet Onix Plus 2027 changes position of automatic version
With the launch promotion, the Onix Plus Turbo AT ECO was announced at R$ 103,990, a price that places the version below the Onix Plus Turbo AT flex in the 2027 line table.
Outside the promotional condition, the suggested price of the configuration rises to R$ 106,990, still lower than the price reported for the Turbo AT flex version, announced at R$ 114,190.

This difference positions the ECO as a lower-priced automatic alternative compared to the Onix Plus Turbo AT flex, without Chevrolet altering the mechanical base used in other turbo versions.
In practice, the commercial strategy associates the turbo engine, the six-speed automatic transmission, and the exclusive calibration for ethanol with a price range benefited by the incentives provided in the federal program.
The table reported for the 2027 line lists the Onix Plus 1.0 MT at R$ 110,090, the Turbo MT at R$ 108,990, the Turbo AT at R$ 114,190, and the Turbo AT ECO at R$ 106,990, with a promotion at R$ 103,990.
In the same price list, the Onix Plus LTZ Turbo AT appears at R$ 120,190, while the ECO version concentrates the main mechanical and commercial change announced for the sedan in the 2027 line.
500-liter trunk remains an attribute of the sedan
In addition to the exclusive ethanol version, the Onix Plus 2027 maintains features such as interior space and the trunk, points used by Chevrolet to position the sedan within the compact category.
The model has a 2.60-meter wheelbase and a capacity of up to 500 liters in the luggage compartment, measurements associated with family use, app-based transport, and company purchases.
In the Chevrolet range, the sedan body serves a different function from the hatchback, offering more luggage space and internal accommodation within the same family of compact models.
While the Onix hatch prioritizes smaller dimensions for urban use, the Onix Plus maintains the shared mechanical base and adds a larger trunk, a feature considered in the comparison between compact sedans.
All versions come equipped with three-cylinder engines and six-speed transmissions, manual or automatic, according to the configuration chosen by the buyer.
Among the safety items maintained in the line are six standard airbags, hill start assist, and automatic headlight activation, according to the list released by Chevrolet.
Onix Plus 2027 Connectivity Gains Expanded Package
The 2027 line received changes in connectivity and equipment, while the sedan’s visual had specific changes compared to the previous configuration presented by the brand.
In the 1.0 MT, Turbo MT, and Turbo AT versions of Onix and Onix Plus, Chevrolet has started to include a standard rearview camera, expanding the convenience list in the entry and intermediate configurations.
Another updated component in the line is the OnStar package, a connectivity and assistance system offered by Chevrolet in different versions of the Onix family.

The manufacturer informs that the Onix family now offers eight years of free OnStar Basics plan, with remote diagnostics and access to myChevrolet app functions.
Among the functions available in the app are vehicle location and remote locking or unlocking of the doors, features linked to the connectivity package informed by the brand.
In the more equipped versions, the set also allows remote engine start for pre-climatization of the cabin, in addition to providing up to three months of testing the Protect plan.
This plan includes security, emergency services, and onboard Wi-Fi, according to the information released by Chevrolet for the 2027 line of Onix and Onix Plus.
Chevrolet Onix Plus and Hyundai HB20S Compete for Sedan Sales
The arrival of the Onix Plus ECO occurs during a period of closer competition among compact sedans, a segment that has started to share space with compact SUVs and crossovers in the Brazilian market.
In April 2026, the Hyundai HB20S led the monthly ranking among sedans, with 4,054 units, while the Onix Plus recorded 3,856 registrations in the same period.
In the accumulated period from January to April, Chevrolet was ahead of its Hyundai rival, with 12,640 units, compared to 12,144 registrations of the HB20S.
In this context, Chevrolet focused the sedan’s update on price, energy efficiency, and connectivity content, without promoting a broad restyling of the Onix Plus body.
Although compact SUVs and crossovers have increased their presence in the market, the compact sedan category still gathers consumers looking for a spacious trunk, controlled consumption, and predictable usage costs.
With the ECO version, the Onix Plus 2027 now combines incentives related to ethanol with a lower-priced automatic configuration than the Turbo AT flex within the sedan’s range.
This move places the model in direct competition with close rivals in terms of volume, price, and usage proposal, keeping the Onix Plus among the compact sedans offered by Chevrolet in Brazil.
