After A Frustrated Assassination Attempt, Elon Musk And Other Silicon Valley Millionaires Increase Funding For Trump’s Campaign. Learn More About This Powerful Alliance
The assassination attempt on the Republican candidate for the White House last weekend reaffirmed the support of those who were cautious. Elon Musk and other Silicon Valley millionaires are increasing funding for Trump’s campaign.
After the failed assassination attempt by a sniper positioned on the roof of a nearby building, figures like Elon Musk stepped forward, announcing they would financially contribute to Trump’s campaign for the U.S. presidency. Musk announced he would join the contribution fund of America PAC (Political Action Committee) for Donald Trump’s campaign, with a monthly contribution of 45 million dollars until the elections.
The recent attack on the former president served as a spur for the billionaire CEO of Tesla to publicly support a candidate with whom he had already shown a lot of affinity. The American press even reported that Trump may have offered a consulting position to Musk if he were to return to the presidency, something Elon Musk categorically denied.

Musk is not alone. Alongside Musk, other Silicon Valley millionaires decided to financially support Trump’s campaign for the 2024 elections. Names like Joe Lonsdale, co-founder of the cybersecurity company Palantir, or twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, who became extremely wealthy through cryptocurrencies.
Trump More Alive Than Ever
In addition to surviving an assassination attempt in which, as he stated in his subsequent speech: “he should be dead,” Trump’s political career has been revitalized with financial support arriving just as his funds were weakening due to the enormous effort he had to make to counteract the effects of the trials that kept him in the dock in recent months.
This quest for financial support led Trump and Elon Musk to hold several meetings in the first and second quarters of the year, as reported by The New York Times.
Since the end of 2020, Elon Musk has undergone a change in his political support. The billionaire shifted from publicly declaring his support for Obama and Biden in previous elections to increasingly aligning with Trump’s postulates on issues such as border security and asserting that the former president’s trial was a political persecution. As soon as he learned about the news of the assassination attempt, the billionaire did not hesitate to publicly express his condemnation and then explicitly support the campaign of the Republican candidate.
Elon Musk’s Disagreements With Biden
Musk’s economic support for Trump’s candidacy may be a response to the snub that the Biden administration gave to Tesla and the billionaire himself. In 2021, the White House called a summit with the top manufacturers of electric vehicles in the U.S., in which the brand that sells the most electric cars in the world was not invited. This greatly irritated Elon Musk. Since then, the billionaire has been very critical of the Democratic president and has progressively increased his contributions to Republicans, although he has done so with small donations and always anonymously.
