LEMMO Offers The Market A New Low-Cost Electric Bike Model With Innovative Technologies. The Model Has Removable Motor And Batteries.
The Dutch LEMMO is still a new player in the electric bike market and, to stand out, launched its new affordable electric bike called One E+. The vehicle stands out for its modular construction and ability to transform into a conventional bicycle.
LEMMO Electric Bike Can Recharge Electronic Devices
It is clear that, in theory, almost all battery-powered bikes can also be pedaled, however, many of them have not been designed with a focus on riding “turned off”. What changes in the electric bike is its innovative motor, as its patented technology disconnects the motor in the rear hub of the vehicle with just the turn of a button.
The feature provides a much lighter ride similar to that of a regular bike. The novelty, called “Dual Mode Clutch Hub,” even won the Red Dot Design Award and its operation is quite simple. A rotating button on the bike switches between electric and manual mode.

With the electric motor disconnected, the cyclist doesn’t even need to worry about the battery, as this component would make the vehicle heavier than a regular bike. With that in mind, the company developed the Smartpac, a compact box located just below the front of the top tube.
The package holds the battery, electric bike motor controller, and other electronic resources in the same place. If preferred, the owner can remove the entire component from the vehicle and use it basically as a powerful power bank to recharge a phone, laptop, and much more. The charging takes about three and a half hours in the outlet, according to the manufacturer.
LEMMO’s Affordable Electric Bike Has Two Versions
Due to its modular configuration, individual components of the bike can also be repaired or replaced as needed, something that would be impossible in models where the battery and other components are housed in the bike frame, for example.
Speaking of the frame, the One E+ is made of recycled aluminum. Currently, the model is sold with a 1×10 transmission system or a single-speed belt drive system. An official app from the company also allows users to locate and even remotely lock the affordable electric bike.
In the end, all of this costs 1,900 euros, which directly converts to R$ 10,600 for a version with chain transmission and 2,190 euros (R$ 11,645) for a belt drive configuration.
The price in reais is high; however, it is quite attractive when viewed in the European market. In the Netherlands, for example, the minimum wage is 1,756 euros. There are still no expectations for this affordable electric bike to reach other markets.
Electric Bikes Are Becoming More Innovative
In addition to this electric bike, the company Urtopia recently launched its electric bike Chord, which features all the connectivity of the previous model, called Carbon 1, along with some new technologies. Its style and technological features make the model unique and different from various electric bikes available in the market.
According to the startup, the vehicle’s inspiration is somewhat peculiar: a piano! This is because the curves and color palette evoke the simplicity and elegance of musical instruments. Its removable 352.6 Wh battery has enough energy for trips of up to 120 km. After 3 hours of charging, the model is ready for another trip.
