The Brazilian Oil and Gas Company Enauta Resumed Production at the Atlanta Offshore Field in the Santos Basin

Enauta, formerly known as Quireoz Galvão, announced in November 2020 the “preventive suspension” of production at the Atlanta field in the Santos Basin after corrosion was found in some equipment that could impair functionality.

The company then decided to replace the tubes of one of the offshore heaters of well 7-ATL-4HB-RJS in the field that produces oil via Petrojarl I FPSO.

“After the definitive replacement was completed, the well resumed operations, reaching the expected production of 10.4 kbbl/day,” Enauta said on Monday.

Regarding the expectation of resuming production from the other wells, the company stated: “Well 7-ATL-3H-RJS is expected to resume production by the end of the first quarter of this year, with initial production estimated at around 10.0 kbbl/day. Well 7-ATL-2HP-RJS should resume production in mid-2021.”

Enauta is the operator of the Atlanta Field in the Santos Basin with 100% ownership, after the company agreed in December 2020 to take full possession of the operational interest in Block BS-4, which contains the Atlanta producing field as its then partner Barra Energia decided to withdraw from the block.

Barra’s action left Enauta to decide whether to keep the 50 percent interest of Barra in the block or proceed with the joint abandonment of the project, once the initial production system – Petrojarl I FPSO – ceased operations. Enauta decided to acquire Barra’s interest and Barra Energia agreed to $43.9 million to Enauta related to the abandonment operations of the three wells and decommissioning of the existing facilities in the field.
