The oil heater of the FPSO Petrojarl I presented abnormalities again and, as a safety measure, the Brazilian oil company Enauta decided to suspend and halt production at the field. It is worth noting that the equipment was also the cause of the first halting of the asset back in November of last year.
According to the oil company, the equipment had been repaired and, for this reason, the company decided to resume production at well 7-ATL-4HB-RJS.

Unfortunately, things did not go as planned, and the heater let the oil company down once again, leading Enauta to decide to permanently replace the equipment.
According to Enauta, the new deadline for the resumption of production at the well is by the end of this quarter. Repairs and replacements will be carried out by the FPSO operator, Altera Infrastructure.
“This interruption does not affect the already announced timeline for the resumption of production from the other wells. The Company reiterates its estimated daily average production for the Atlanta Field for the year 2021 of 14,000 barrels of oil per day, with a variation margin of 10% (ten percent) negative or positive when the annual daily average is verified,” said Enauta in a statement.
Enauta Will Tender FPSO in Brazil: Can Our Shipbuilding Have Hopes?
Enauta will seek an FPSO with a capacity of 50,000 barrels per day at the beginning of next year, and everything indicates that Brazilian shipbuilding will be boosted. The development project is under evaluation but should include fewer wells to be more economically attractive.
Recently, Ibama issued an operating license authorizing FPSO production in shipbuilding, Petrojarl I, chartered by Queiroz Galvão E&P with Teekay, in the Atlanta field in the Santos Basin. The license is valid until April 23, 2023, and the environmental compensation for the project was set by the environmental agency at R$ 1.66 million.
