The technology sector in Santa Catarina is in accelerated expansion and projects the creation of around 100 thousand new jobs between 2025 and 2027.

This is the largest number ever recorded in the annual survey, reflecting the consistent growth of the sector.

Of these positions, 45% will be allocated to developer roles, highlighting the high demand for specialized programming professionals.

Research Methodology

The fourth edition of the Demand Mapping and Talent Profile for the Technology Sector in SC was conducted by the Santa Catarina Association of Technology (ACATE), in partnership with Sebrae Startups and support from the Florianópolis Innovation Network.

The survey, conducted between October 2024 and February 2025, involved 401 companies of various sizes in Santa Catarina, providing a comprehensive view of the technological market needs in the state.

The survey also revealed employers’ preferences regarding work arrangements:

  • 35.8% of the positions will be offered in a hybrid format, combining remote and on-site workdays.
  • 21.7% of the positions will be fully remote, allowing professionals to work from anywhere.
  • 17.9% of the positions will require 100% on-site presence in the company’s facilities.

These data indicate a growing flexibility in the technological job market in Santa Catarina, aligning with global trends of remote and hybrid work.
