The technology sector in Santa Catarina is in accelerated expansion and projects the creation of around 100 thousand new jobs between 2025 and 2027.
This is the largest number ever recorded in the annual survey, reflecting the consistent growth of the sector.
Of these positions, 45% will be allocated to developer roles, highlighting the high demand for specialized programming professionals.

Research Methodology
The fourth edition of the Demand Mapping and Talent Profile for the Technology Sector in SC was conducted by the Santa Catarina Association of Technology (ACATE), in partnership with Sebrae Startups and support from the Florianópolis Innovation Network.
The survey, conducted between October 2024 and February 2025, involved 401 companies of various sizes in Santa Catarina, providing a comprehensive view of the technological market needs in the state.
Work Arrangements on the Rise
The survey also revealed employers’ preferences regarding work arrangements:
- 35.8% of the positions will be offered in a hybrid format, combining remote and on-site workdays.
- 21.7% of the positions will be fully remote, allowing professionals to work from anywhere.
- 17.9% of the positions will require 100% on-site presence in the company’s facilities.
These data indicate a growing flexibility in the technological job market in Santa Catarina, aligning with global trends of remote and hybrid work.
Profile of Demanded Soft Skills
In addition to technical skills, soft skills (interpersonal skills) are also highly valued by companies.
According to the survey, the main behavioral competencies sought are:
- Problem-Solving Ability: Essential for facing complex challenges and finding innovative solutions.
- Teamwork: The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from different areas.
- Proactivity: Initiative to anticipate needs and act before problems arise.
The vice president of Talent at ACATE, Moacir Marafon, emphasizes that academic training should integrate these competencies into the curriculum, preparing professionals for market demands.

The survey identified the positions with the highest demand in the technology sector, including:
Developers: Including full stack, front-end, and back-end positions.
IT Services/Support Analysts: Professionals responsible for technical support and system maintenance.
Developers Focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI): Specialists in creating systems that mimic human intelligence.
Digital Marketing Specialists: Professionals who promote products and services online.
Data Analysts: Specialists in collecting, processing, and analyzing data for decision-making.
Mobile Developers: Focused on developing applications for mobile devices.
Product Managers: Professionals who manage the lifecycle of technological products.
Regarding the most requested programming languages, the highlights are:
- JavaScript: Used in developing interactive interfaces.
- Python: Known for versatility and use in data science and AI.
- React: JavaScript library for building user interfaces.
- Node.js: Runtime environment for JavaScript on the server side.
- Flutter: Framework for mobile app development.
Profile of Hiring Companies
The majority of positions will be created by startups and small businesses, with annual revenue around R$ 4.8 million.
The innovation manager at Sebrae/SC, Alexandre de Souza, highlights that strengthening these companies is strategic to boost talent absorption and the state’s economic development.
Job Market and Salaries in the Technology Sector
The technology market in Santa Catarina offers attractive salaries.
In Florianópolis, for example, the estimated total monthly salary for a software developer is R$ 6,108, with an average salary of R$ 5,700.
In other cities in the state, such as Brusque and Blumenau, average salaries for the role range from R$ 5,000 to R$ 6,000.
Perspectives for the Future of the Technology Sector
The ongoing expansion of the technology sector in Santa Catarina requires professionals to seek constant training and integrate new technologies into their repertoire.
