New Program Is Offering Up to R$ 90 Thousand for Those Who Move to Spain and Work Remotely. Find Out If You Qualify!

Imagine receiving an amount of up to R$ 90 thousand just to change your life, work remotely, and live in a peaceful town in Spain. Sounds too good to be true, right?

But this is exactly the proposal of a new government program that promises to attract talent from various parts of the world, offering a unique chance for remote work in one of the most charming and affordable places in Europe.

What many do not know, however, is that the process involves some specific conditions and a financial incentive that may surprise you.

The government of Extremadura, an autonomous region in Spain, is about to launch a revolutionary initiative aimed at revitalizing its rural areas by offering financial aid for qualified professionals who want to live and work there.

The project, which is expected to be officially announced in September 2024, is generating great expectations among candidates from all over the world.

According to the Spanish government, the main objective is to attract professionals who work remotely for companies outside of Spain, but consume and live in Extremadura, promoting a cycle of local economic growth.

How The Incentive Program Works?

The government proposal from Extremadura stands out for offering two tiers of incentives to help settle new residents in the region.

According to Sexpe (Employment Service of Extremadura), the agency responsible for implementing the program, selected professionals must reside in the region for at least two years.

The total amount can reach up to 15 thousand euros (about R$ 93 thousand), depending on the length of stay and the applicant’s conditions.

The financial aid is distributed as follows:

  • 10 thousand euros (approximately R$ 62.3 thousand) for women, individuals under 30 years old, or anyone opting to live in towns with fewer than 5 thousand inhabitants.
  • 5 thousand euros additional (approximately R$ 31.1 thousand) for those who stay for an additional year after the initial period.

For those who do not fall into the above categories, the initial amount is 8 thousand euros (about R$ 49.8 thousand), with an additional 4 thousand euros (approximately R$ 24.9 thousand) for those who decide to extend their stay for another year.

This strategy was designed specifically to strengthen rural areas and reduce population decline.

Who Can Apply for the Remote Work Visa?

In addition to financial incentives, interested individuals must meet some important requirements to qualify for the remote work visa in Spain.

According to information from the Spanish government, the visa is aimed at both self-employed professionals and employees hired by companies outside of Spain.

To apply for the remote work visa, it is necessary to:

  1. Prove an income greater than 2,646 euros per month (approximately R$ 16.4 thousand).
  2. Present a university degree or at least three years of proven professional experience.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to perform professional activities remotely.
  4. Obtain a residence permit in Spain.

Additionally, the visa can be extended to the professional’s family, provided that the applicant’s income is sufficient to cover the additional requirements for each dependent.

These conditions are part of an attempt by the Spanish government to attract skilled labor and boost the local economy.

Life in Extremadura: Peace and Quality of Life

Located on the border with Portugal, Extremadura is an autonomous community divided into two provinces: Cáceres and Badajoz.

The region offers a unique combination of high quality of life at an affordable cost, standing out for cheaper rents and lower property taxes than in other parts of Spain.

Known for its lush natural landscapes and vast historical heritage, Extremadura also attracts with its rich culinary culture, especially the local production of wines and hams.

The tranquility of life away from the bustling urban centers has increasingly attracted people in search of a balance between work and personal life.

The low cost of living and peaceful environment make Extremadura an ideal option for those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of big cities, while still continuing their careers abroad.

Why This Opportunity Can Change Your Life?

In addition to offering a calmer life and a lower cost of living, the Extremadura program opens doors to a new lifestyle, focused on tranquility without giving up professional growth.

According to data from the Brazilian consulate in Madrid, the community already has about 1,397 Brazilians living in the region, a number that could increase significantly with the implementation of the new program.

The opportunity to work remotely in such a culturally rich region, combined with financial benefits, could be exactly what many professionals are looking for.

The government hopes that the program will attract new residents who will contribute to the economic and social development of the region, increasing the dynamism of small towns.

Do you think this opportunity could change your life? Would you leave Brazil and live in Spain if selected? Leave your opinion in the comments!
