Emma Little, from Oshawa, Ontario, won the seven numbers of the Encore in the Lotto 6/49 draw on August 27, 2025, becoming a millionaire with a prize of 1 million dollars after purchasing her 11th lottery ticket. Emma Little, a 27-year-old from Generation Z, became a millionaire after buying her 11th lottery ticket.

On August 27, 2025, she matched all seven numbers of the Encore in the Lotto 6/49 draw. Little, who had never played frequently, made the purchase after her coworker won a prize, motivating her to try her luck.

The victory of 1 million dollars was a shock for Little, who never imagined that her bet on the Encore, an additional US$ 1, would result in such a prize. “I just wanted to try my luck since a co-worker of mine had recently won a prize,” said the young woman, who went to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her prize.

In addition to securing her family’s future, Little plans two major changes in her life: buying her own house and traveling outside Canada. “I’ve never had my own space, so it will be nice,” she said. She also revealed that one of her favorite destinations is Jamaica.

The Encore, the optional additional bet in Canadian lotteries, offers 22 ways to win and daily draws. Little won by matching the exact sequence of numbers. The Lotto 6/49, where she placed her bet, holds draws on Wednesdays and Saturdays and includes two prize categories.
