São Paulo State University (UNESP) has opened a public competition to fill a tenure-track position in the Physical Education Department of the College of Sciences at the Bauru Campus. This opportunity is part of the public competition aimed at selecting a professor with relevant academic and scientific experience.

About the UNESP Public Competition

Applications for the UNESP competition will begin on December 20, 2024, and will continue until February 2, 2025.

The position is for a tenure-track professor, on a full-time basis, with a salary of up to R$ 23,039.56.

The public competition will select a professor to teach the course “Regulation of Autonomous Activity and Blood Flow during Rest and Physical Exercise”, one of the positions offered by the State University for the Bauru campus.

To participate in the public competition, candidates must hold the title of livre-docente obtained from UNESP, USP, or Unicamp, with at least six years since obtaining the title.

Additionally, it is necessary to be accredited in a strictu sensu graduate program and to have published at least 20 scientific papers or works in the field.

The registration fee is R$ 263.00, and applications must be submitted exclusively through the UNESP website.

Structure of the Public Competition Tests

The UNESP public competition will consist of three main stages.

The first will be the Titles Examination, which will analyze the Circumstantial Memoir, showcasing the candidate’s scientific production, teaching, and academic activities, as well as their experience in teaching and research management.

The positions offered require candidates to have demonstrated qualifications in teaching and extension areas.

The second stage of the public competition will be the Didactic Exam, where the candidate must present a lecture, at the graduate level, on a topic of their choice.

The lecture duration will be between 50 and 60 minutes, and this stage will be public. The objective is to assess the candidate’s teaching capabilities.

The third stage will be the Memorial Defense Examination, where the candidate will explain their academic activities from the time they obtained the livre-docente title up to the moment of registration for the public competition.

These tests are an essential part of the selection process for the professor position.
