Brastemp’s new microwave bets on automatic recipes, intelligent weight-based defrosting, QR Code with guided preparations, and functions focused on kitchen practicality, expanding the traditional use of the appliance with a focus on consumers seeking speed, variety of recipes, and more ease in daily life.

Brastemp launched the BMS23 microwave in Brazil, a 23-liter model that features pre-programmed recipes, defrosting by food type and weight, QR Code with preparations in the manual, and an initial price of R$ 639 for the white version.

Presented on May 6, 2026, the appliance arrives with the proposal to expand the use of the microwave beyond basic food heating, targeting consumers who seek practicality to prepare quick meals daily.

The main feature of the launch is the Multi Preparos function, which brings together automatic commands for recipes such as brownie, risotto, rice, brigadeiro, lasagna, and other dishes made in a few touches, according to the brand.

Brastemp BMS23 microwave bets on slim design and automatic preparation

With an internal capacity of 23 liters, the BMS23 was developed with a slim design, a solution that seeks to better utilize kitchen space without sacrificing useful area for larger containers.

The line appears on the Brastemp website in white, black, and stainless steel versions, with different commercial codes depending on the finish, including BMS23AB for the white option and BMS23AR for the stainless steel.

The initial price confirmed on the official channel is R$ 639 for the white version, while the stainless steel option appears for R$ 719, a value that may vary according to color, voltage, retailer, and commercial conditions.

Multi Preparos function brings together brownie, risotto, and brigadeiro

The Multi Preparos function concentrates the product’s strongest appeal by offering a pre-programmed menu for those who want to cook complete recipes in the microwave without manually adjusting all steps.

In practice, Brastemp indicates that the user can prepare sweet and savory options, from brownie to risotto, as well as more everyday recipes, such as rice and brigadeiro, with the support of the panel commands.

The QR Code integrated into the manual complements this proposal by directing the consumer to a recipe book with preparation guidelines, designed to make the use of the equipment simpler and guided.

In addition to automatic recipes, the appliance offers 10 power levels, a feature that allows adjusting the heating intensity according to the type of food and the desired result in each preparation.

Intelligent defrosting adjusts weight and food type

Another highlighted function is Perfect Defrosting, which considers the type of food and the informed weight to conduct the process automatically, reducing the need for manual adjustments during use.

According to Brastemp, the system also indicates when to stir or reposition the food, a measure that seeks to make defrosting more uniform and avoid differences between the edges and the center of the piece.

The BMS23 also features the Melt function, aimed at ingredients such as butter and chocolate, with programmed time and power to facilitate recipes that require greater temperature control.

Extra features include odor reduction and silent mode

Among the additional features, the microwave has an Auto Clean function, which uses steam to help remove internal dirt after use, provided the consumer follows the manual’s instructions.

The model also offers an odor reduction function, designed to diminish lingering smells inside the appliance after heating or preparing foods with a stronger aroma.

Another point mentioned by the brand is the Silence Mode, which allows deactivating sound alerts, in addition to the safety lock activated by the panel to prevent accidental commands or involuntary use.

Brastemp also highlights the Easy Click keyboard, a feature associated with time control and navigating the commands available on the appliance, maintaining a focus on simple and direct use.

Whirlpool highlights new role of microwave in the kitchen

Bertha Fernandes, Head of Communications and Brands at Whirlpool Brazil, stated that the launch seeks to reposition the microwave within the domestic routine and encourage uses less restricted to heating.

“This launch is very important for Brastemp, as it redefines the role of the microwave in the consumer’s kitchen,” said the executive in a statement released about the product.

“We want people to think outside the box, to feel confident creating delicious and varied dishes, even with the hustle and bustle of everyday life.”

She also stated that the brand wants to encourage varied preparations even in a busy routine, associating the new model with the proposal of making recipes more accessible in daily life.

The launch follows other recent movements by Whirlpool in the Brazilian home appliance market, including the announcement of washing machines with smart sensors in April 2026.

With the BMS23, Brastemp reinforces a strategy focused on home appliances with automatic functions, integration with digital content, and commands that reduce manual steps in common kitchen tasks.
