The Government of São Paulo Opened This Friday (14) the Applications for the Hiring of More 40 Thousand Teachers in Temporary Regime for the State Education Network.
According to the notice, the vacancies are for 2025, and interested parties can register until July 12 on the Vunesp website.
These temporary professionals are generally hired through a simplified process, that is, without the need for skills evaluation.
This differs from what happens with permanent teachers, who need to be approved in a public competition.

In an interview with the “G1” portal, education specialists warned about the risks of this type of hiring, which has even recorded an increase in recent years, largely due to the expansion of working hours, full-time teaching, and the new high school.
For these specialists, hiring temporary teachers generates professional instability and harms the quality of education.
In an interview with the aforementioned portal, João Batista Silva dos Santos, a public education specialist, highlighted that goal 18 of the National Education Plan establishes that, at most, 10% of teachers should be hired temporarily.
“The teacher who works temporarily is out of the career plan, which is an achievement of public servants and details all the labor rights of the profession,” he pointed out.
In a statement, the State Department of Education reported that the entire teaching staff is composed of hired and permanent teachers, who possess the necessary skills and competencies to teach.
São Paulo has more temporary teachers than permanent ones. According to data released by the NGO Todos pela Educação, in April of this year, São Paulo recorded, in its teaching staff of the state education network, a higher number of temporary teachers than permanent ones.
In total, there were 162,935 teachers, of which 82,685 were temporary, 69,980 were permanent, and 10,253 were hired under the CLT regime.
Last year, in December, nearly 10,000 teachers were dismissed and around 6,000 were rehired in February of this year.
At the time, the State Department of Education informed that, in the current administration, more than 15,000 permanent teachers were hired to reduce the number of temporary ones.
Regarding the dismissal and rehiring of these professionals, the department explained that, after three years working in the state network, the teacher must wait 40 days to sign a new contract.
