GWM Surprises Motorcycle Market With New Souo S2000, A Luxury Bike With High Power And 8 Opposed Cylinders
GWM has been exploring the motorcycle market in China and, with the sub-brand Souo, is now betting on the luxury segment. Known for producing electric bikes and lower displacement models, Souo innovates with the launch of the Souo S2000, a combustion model aiming to compete with iconic bikes like the Honda Gold Wing, according to the Quatro Rodas website.
With an impressive 2.0-liter engine and eight opposed cylinders, the Souo S2000 achieves 154 hp of power and 19 kgfm of torque. This configuration ensures a top speed of up to 210 km/h, positioning it among the most powerful motorcycles today. Compared to the Honda Gold Wing, which has a six-cylinder engine and 126 hp, the Souo S2000 stands out by offering even bolder performance.
Structure And Comfort: Souo S2000 Displays Impressive Dimensions
The engine’s power is accompanied by a robust structure. With a wheelbase of 1.81 meters, 11.5 cm longer than the Honda Gold Wing, the Souo S2000 offers comfort and stability for longer trips. Weighing 461 kg, it is also one of the heaviest bikes in its category, requiring experience to ride.

Technology And Connectivity: The Souo S2000 Is Ahead Of Its Time
Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the Souo S2000 features a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and rear parking sensors, which is rare in motorcycles. Heated seats and the ability to receive software updates remotely enhance the model’s comfort and practicality.

The starting price of the Souo S2000 is US$ 31 thousand (approximately R$ 183 thousand), competitive when compared to R$ 304 thousand for the Honda Gold Wing. However, restrictions on the use of large combustion motorcycles in China, especially in urban areas, may limit its adoption in the local market. Nevertheless, the model represents a new era for GWM, which seeks to compete on equal footing with major industry names and establish itself in the luxury motorcycle market.
