With Futuristic Design and Access Only by Seaplane, the Shebara Resort Floats Over the Sea in Saudi Arabia and Invests in Sustainable Luxury Tourism
A resort with a spaceship-like appearance has been inaugurated in a remote area of Saudi Arabia. The Shebara Resort, located in the Tabuk region, can only be accessed by seaplane and features luxurious accommodations with a floating metal structure over the sea.
Innovative Design and Isolated Location
The villas, with their futuristic look, were designed by Killa Design, responsible for the Museum of the Future in Dubai.
The accommodations use stainless steel and reflect the sky and sea, creating an appearance that changes with the light of day.

Some villas are on solid ground, while others float over the sea, connected in a necklace of pearls format.
The resort is part of the Red Sea Project, an initiative by the Saudi government to transform the country into an international tourist destination.
Shebara Resort: Structure and Offered Attractions
The Shebara Resort has a total of 73 villas. The units are called “villas” and offer spacious accommodations, with options both over the water and on solid ground.
The resort’s announcement highlights that the suspended villas are close to coral gardens and that the structure reflects the natural elements of the surrounding environment.
Among the available services are:
- High-end restaurants
- Gym
- Spa and wellness center
- Water activities such as snorkeling and windsurfing
Commitment to the Environment
The company responsible states that the project was developed to have the least possible impact on the region’s ecosystem.
The villas over the sea are supported by columns with minimal contact with the ground. The area houses coral reefs, and the proposal is to preserve this natural environment.
Additionally, the resort features a desalination plant for water supply and a solar farm for energy generation.
Guests can walk or bike around the solar panels, which are arranged in a circular layout on the property.
Saudi Arabia is heavily investing in luxury tourism and futuristic design to attract visitors. The Shebara Resort is one of the ventures that symbolizes this new phase of the country.
