Technical Part of the Project:
“In terms of the technical aspect, we are developing the project, which is in a very advanced phase. We are receiving technical support from Mitsubishi Power, as we are dealing with a large-scale power plant. Our thermal plant is designed in three modules of 600 MW, totaling 1.8 GW of power. To give you an idea, this represents the entire consumption of the state of Espírito Santo and still leaves some surplus. The energy from the plant will be sold in an auction and 100% sold to the National Integrated System (SIN). The forecasted gas consumption for this project is 7 million cubic meters per day. For comparison, the entire state of Espírito Santo consumes a little over 2 million cubic meters per day.”
Licensing and Start of Construction:
“We should have the Preliminary License by the beginning of the year. From there, we intend to participate in the upcoming auctions that will take place next year. Then, participating in this auction and winning, we will start the construction a year later.”
Investment and Economic Development:
“It is an investment of R$ 6 billion. You can imagine the economic impact on the region. This thermal plant in the northern position of Espírito Santo will be imperative for the region’s development. The presence of the power plant will bring energy security, along with transportation modes, development, and will generate many jobs. The thermal plant is a development anchor for the entire region.“
