R$ 6.1 Million Project Plans Modern Dock for Vessels Up to 100 Feet and Complete Infrastructure for Coastal Leisure

The city of Joinville began the installation of a modern floating dock at the Porta do Mar Park in the Espinheiros neighborhood on July 16, 2025.
The work was officially authorized after the signing of the service order by Mayor Adriano Silva.
The project includes the renovation of the current pier and the implementation of prefabricated concrete floating structures.
This initiative is part of a package of improvements aimed at enhancing regional nautical tourism.

With an investment of R$ 6.1 million, the new space will have 497 m² of navigable area.
It will be able to accommodate vessels up to 100 feet, such as the traditional Príncipe Boat.
The city hall reported that the main goal is to enhance the Babitonga Bay.
This area already hosts over two thousand registered vessels.
Furthermore, the project aims to attract tourists and encourage local commerce.
The Espinheiros gastronomic route will be directly benefited by this new dock.

Swedish Technology Ensures Greater Safety and Durability

The structure will consist of five floating modules, each measuring 11 meters long by 3 meters wide.
All will be interconnected by steel cables and synthetic rubber blocks.
This structural choice aims to ensure not only resistance but also greater stability even under adverse conditions.

According to the Joinville City Hall, one of the distinguishing features of the new pier will be the use of pieces with Swedish technology.
These pieces will be applied by the company AJM Ltda, the winner of the bidding process.

Additionally, the team will build a 38-meter ramp to connect the fixed pier to the floating structures.
This ramp will provide easy access for users and tourists.
An additional module will serve as a base for an aluminum walkway.
The designers created this item with a focus on accessibility and comfort for visitors.

A new nautical signaling is also planned.
It will optimize the circulation and safety of vessels in the Babitonga Bay area.

Nautical Tourism Is Set to Gain New Regional Momentum

With the completion of the project, nautical tourism in Joinville is expected to undergo a qualitative leap.
According to Mayor Adriano Silva, the infrastructure will benefit local navigators as well as visitors from other regions.
“The more than two thousand registered vessels in Joinville will be able to stop right here,” the mayor highlighted.
The Espinheiros gastronomic route will gain even more value, offering visitors a more attractive experience.

The new structure will also be a tourist attraction for those who admire the natural beauty of Babitonga Bay.
In addition to facilitating nautical traffic, the project stimulates commerce, gastronomy, and leisure throughout the region.

The project has a strategic focus.
It connects tourism interests with environmental preservation and the urban appreciation of Joinville’s coastline.

Nautical Modernization Aligns with Sustainable Trends

Another point emphasized by the municipal administration is the care for sustainability and the landscape integration of the project.
The use of prefabricated concrete and highly durable materials reduces maintenance costs.
Additionally, this choice ensures lower environmental impact in the long run.

With the implementation of nautical signaling and equipment such as trash cans and public benches, the city reinforces its commitment to coastline management.
The structure also prioritizes the safe welcoming of users and visitors.

In this context, the project renews the visual appeal of Porta do Mar Park.
It also puts Joinville in the spotlight among the nautical hubs in southern Brazil.
The investment in Swedish technology demonstrates the intention to adopt modern and effective solutions.

These solutions are compatible with the size and needs of Joinville’s coast.
The expectation is that the new pier will be operational by the second half of 2025.
This is the initial schedule of the responsible construction company.

Joinville Looks to the Future with Modern Coastal Infrastructure

The installation of the floating dock not only improves the local structure but also represents a strategic advance for tourism and the economy of Joinville.
In addition, the modern infrastructure, cutting-edge materials, and planned investment demonstrate that, with this project, the city is ready to grow.
As a result, Joinville will be able to accommodate larger vessels, which will benefit coastal commerce and further integrate its nautical tourism on a national level.
This way, the city strengthens itself even more, becoming a destination capable of attracting discerning visitors and, consequently, moving the entire tourism chain.
This will make it possible to promote complete experiences while ensuring direct contact with nature, enhancing local potential.
