The selection process is aimed at teachers with a solid academic background. To participate, the candidate must:

  • Be a native Brazilian;
  • Be between 18 and 62 years old by July 2026;
  • Be up to date with electoral and military obligations;
  • Have proven moral integrity and no criminal records;
  • Hold a PhD recognized by the MEC in the area of the vacancy;
  • Present proof of teaching experience in higher education;
  • Be physically and psychologically fit for temporary military service.

According to the Navy announcement, the approved educators will be incorporated as Officers of the 3rd Class of the Reserve (RM3) and may have their service time extended annually up to a maximum of 96 months (8 years).

These requirements ensure that only highly qualified professionals can teach and develop educational projects within the Navy’s educational institutions.

What Will the Selection Process for Teachers Be Like?

The selection process for the Navy in the field of Education consists of seven stages, which assess everything from theoretical knowledge to teaching skills. The sequence includes:

  1. Objective Test – 40 questions in Portuguese Language, lasting 3 hours;
  2. Titles Examination – analysis of diplomas, publications, and teaching experience;
  3. Verification of Biographical and Documentary Data – eliminatory step;
  4. Health Inspection – complete medical examination;
  5. Physical Fitness Test (TAF-i) – running and swimming;
  6. Teaching Exam – eliminatory and classificatory step, evaluating teaching methods and content mastery;
  7. Designation for Incorporation – final act confirming entry into the Navy.

During the Service and Adaptation Stage (ESA), teachers receive military training and start to work as instructor officers in educational units and training centers of the Brazilian Navy.

What Are the Salaries and Benefits Offered?

The salaries for the teacher positions in the Navy are around R$ 15,000 per month, in addition to benefits such as meals, accommodation, uniforms, and medical-dental assistance.

During active service, the educator receives all rights provided by the Military Remuneration Law and may, at the discretion of the naval administration, have the contract renewed annually.

The initial service time is 12 months, extending up to 8 years. However, the bond is temporary, without the right to job security, but with high prestige and great academic relevance.

It is an excellent opportunity for those looking to combine teaching career and military experience in a prestigious teaching environment.

How to Register for the Navy Contest 2025?

Registrations will be open from October 1 to October 20, 2025, exclusively online. The registration fee is R$ 140, and candidates registered in CadÚnico can request exemption until October 6.

After payment, the candidate must keep the receipt, as it will be required in the following stages.
The objective test will be held in Rio de Janeiro, according to the announcement schedule.

The entire process must be done on the official Navy website, where the full announcement is also available.
