New Havan Megastore in Maringá Advances Toward Opening with Million-Dollar Investment, Job Creation, and Installation of the Iconic Statue of Liberty by BR-376, Expanding the Retailer’s Presence in the City and Reinforcing Expansion Plan Announced for 2026.

Maringá, in the northwest of Paraná, is set to receive the third megastore of Havan, slated to open on February 28, 2026, according to businessman Luciano Hang in an interview with Portal Victor Hugo, where he stated that the construction is already in the final phase.

Located on Avenida Colombo, alongside BR-376, the unit will cover approximately 10,000 m² and will be the first store of the chain in the city with its own building, as the two current operations function within shopping centers, in shared addresses.

Street Store on Avenida Colombo and New Commercial Point in Maringá

By opting for a street store, Havan is banking on a high-traffic area, close to the axis connecting Maringá to neighboring municipalities, which usually concentrates businesses with ample parking and easy access for those arriving by car.

In addition to its size, the construction follows the architectural standard adopted by the company in some units outside shopping centers, featuring the Statue of Liberty on the façade, an element that the chain uses as a visual trademark and which, in Maringá, is not present in the two stores located in commercial centers.

While the shopping units rely on internal retail and leisure traffic, the new megastore aims to create its own destination, with the display facing directly toward the highway and the avenue, in a model that the company replicates in various regions.

The presence of the statue, in this context, serves as an immediate brand identifier and typically accompanies openings treated as events, with promotional actions and large movements in the surrounding area, according to recurring reports in the company’s own disclosures and announcements.

Investment of R$ 100 Million and Creation of 200 Direct Jobs

In the same interview, Hang linked the project to the expansion strategy and reiterated the standard that the chain promotes for new branches, citing an investment of around R$ 100 million and the generation of approximately 200 direct jobs.

Next year we will celebrate 40 years of history, and our mission is to expand even more. For each new store opened, we invest around R$ 100 million and create 200 direct jobs,” said the businessman, relating the opening of stores to local economic impact.

The reference to 40 years, however, connects to the institutional history published by Havan itself, which points to its founding in 1986, placing the brand at the milestone of four decades in 2026, not the following year.

Even so, the central message maintained by Hang is one of continuity of the growth plan, with new stores and reinforcement of the workforce, using the opening of branches as one of the main drivers of hiring and construction in different cities.

The new unit in Maringá fits into this logic as another address in an area where the company already operates, but with a distinct format from the shopping stores, changing the relationship with the surroundings and expanding the area available for sales.

On the other hand, operational details such as the exact number of positions open for local hiring, selection schedule, and start of activities before the opening event were not publicly and standardized presented in the information associated with the announcement.

Havan’s Expansion in 2026 Includes New Stores in Several States

The announcement of the opening for Maringá appears alongside a broader calendar released by the company for the first half of 2026, with eight openings indicated in different states, in a strategy that combines capitals, regional hubs, and cities in Santa Catarina.

In this list, the chain mentions units in Goiânia, Curitiba, Garibaldi, Taquara, Blumenau, Ariquemes, and Tijucas, in addition to Maringá, without detailing the specific dates of each opening in the same announcement.

When discussing expansion, Hang often highlights that each new store involves large construction projects and direct hiring, although the indirect effects, such as outsourced services and impacts on the local supplier network, vary depending on the stage of the endeavor and the dynamics of each municipality.

Nevertheless, the choice of Maringá for a megastore with its own building reinforces the importance of the regional market in the company’s design, as the city maintains strong consumption, attracts buyers from nearby municipalities, and concentrates traffic in commercial corridors like Avenida Colombo.

With the approaching date announced for the end of February, the expectation focuses on the format of the opening event, the capacity to attract a crowd outside shopping centers, and how the new store will compete for attention in one of the busiest stretches of the city.

Given this advancement and the announced calendar of openings for different regions, to what extent does the arrival of a street megastore alter the shopping pattern and the distribution of commercial flow in Maringá throughout 2026?

Assu ainda é uma pequena cidade, mas pra Mossoró, ela já tem condições de receber uma Loja da HAVAN.
