According to Mercado Livre, the course is offered in collaboration with the programming school Rocketseat. Furthermore, the company states that a total of 150 scholarships for an online web programming course are being offered.

Who the Programming Course Is For

According to Mercado Livre, this programming course is aimed at young people aged between 16 and 18 years, with the goal of fostering interest and developing skills in technology among this age group.

According to the company, when creating the project, a special effort was made for inclusion. In this sense, 50% of the scholarships were reserved for candidates who identify as female or who self-declare as black or mixed-race.

Demand for People in the Field Is Expected to Increase

This program from Mercado Livre in partnership with Rocketseat comes at a crucial time for the field. This is because, according to the Brazilian Association of Information Technology and Communication Companies (Brasscom), the sector will need professionals.

According to the entity’s survey, by next year, the demand for technology professionals in Brazil will reach nearly 800,000. However, more than 60% of these positions may remain unfilled due to a lack of qualification.

How to Enroll

Interested? Know that registrations are already open and will remain so until April 29 on Rocketseat’s website. Those registered will go through a selection process that includes a Pre-course Challenge, which will take place from April 29 to May 4.

After the process, the results will be announced between May 3 and May 7, and the scholarships will be distributed. This will occur between May 8 and May 15, with classes starting on May 20.
